We bought a used 2022 Atlas with 37k miles. - mquagliana1
We bought a used 2022 Atlas with 37k miles. I had been hunting for this specific color, interior, and trim for a long time, so I was adamant about getting this vehicle. Took us about a week to make plans, due to the Easter holiday, our jobs, and having a toddler, but Dylan was willing to hold the car for us as long as I completed the pre-qualification and application ahead of time. We felt confident to make the 5 hour drive down there, but when we got there, although the car was detailed beautifully, it had a STRONG pet odor that seemed to get worse when we took it for a test drive and opened the windows. It clearly was deep in the upholstery and carpets. Dylan wanted to make it right, so he had his team replace the cabin air filter and use an ionizer machine on the interior. Problem was, the ionizer had to run for 2 hours, so Dylan lent us a '26 Atlas to go to lunch and return the rental car we drove down there. He did everything he could to rectify the issue, at no extra cost to us!
The main team member that deserves a big shout-out is Nico. Nico was the young man who hustled around ALL afternoon answering questions we had, he was the one who found out about the air filter, and tracked down Atlas floor mats that were missing. He seems incredibly knowledgeable about VW innerworkings and pointed out SEL features we didn't even know about! Nico's demeaner is calm and re-assuring, so it was an absolute pleasure to work with him, you can tell he's going to be a top-notch salesman! Lastly, when the process was all finished and we were just about to peel out of the parking lot in our new-to-us Atlas, I threw my bag in the second row captain seat and somehow managed to knock the armrest down past horizontal, and we could not figure out how to get it back up. We called Nico out, and he immediately jumped back there and started troubleshooting. He loosened/tightened a dial underneath to get it to click back into place, something we would have never figured out, so thankyou for going the extra mile, Nico, we truly appreciate it!!
Kamal, the finance guy was nice too. He explained the entire signing process (in depth) so we were able to choose add-ons or the extended warranty if needed. Another bonus was the Atlas was a Certified Pre-Owned, so we walked away with 2 extra years or 24k miles already built in, super happy with that. A big part of the negotiation was messing with numbers and length of the loan to find something we were comfortable with. We came prepared with an approved bank check to finance with our home institution, and the team was able to work with us and get it close enough to our home bank, so we ended up financing with World VW instead. All in all, I am very happy and excited about the purchase! Being 5 hours away, I wish there was a way to disclose the strong odor before hand, so the ionizer could have been run before we got there. The entire process took about 4 hours, but now I feel comfortable putting my two year old (with severe asthma and allergies) in the back to travel. I can say the entire World VW team is laid back and relaxed, but willing to put in the work to make the customer happy in the end, so thank you for a smooth experience, we absolutely love the car!!
