We found the car we had sought here. Internet. The salesman was great. The dealership's processes for internet buyers were not friendly. First the dealership would not hold a car, even with a deposit, over night. Second, after driving 3 hours to get to the dealership and not wanting to drive 3 hours home in the dark, the finance staff was so slow that we had to threaten to leave before anyone arranged for us to finish the DMV paperwork (the finance department) - and even then it took our salesman calling in a favor from the finance team at the Bill Kids Volvo dealership to get us out the door well after dark. The sales management team were not the least sympathetic to our situation. What a disappointment - the dealership knew for days we were coming and only the salesman appeared to appreciate our situation. We witnessed other customers leaving the dealership because of delays in meeting their needs. The bullpen where the sales managers sit, isolated, behind glass, seemed to say a lot to me about the experience we had. Bill Kidd would do well to go undercover and try to experience the dealership as an internet purchaser - it might lead to some process changes if the owner's heart is customer service first .... There are too many dealerships out there for me to put myself and my wife through another experience like this one. Two stars for salesperson's help.

The best dealer at least in Maryland if not nationwide. I have bought cars from at least a dozen other dealers in my life and by far.....and let me say again, BY FAR, the best dealer ever. They not only really take care of you and any problems or questions that you have with your new/used car but they go way way way out of their way to make things right. They don't nickel and dime you about everything. This is the first time that a dealer gave me a full tank of gas and an oil change on a used car that I purchased, I especially want to mention Tony Freeman, the used car manager. WOW, he is the best. Usually when you buy a used car and if you have problems with it even within a few days, it is your problem. But Tony, took care of every little problem like even getting me a new windshield wiper and when I had to leave my car in the repair shop he gave me a brand new loaner car free of charge. You do not get this kind of service and care even at a BMW dealer. If you are looking to buy a car and especially a used car, ask for Tony Freeman and his team. I would buy all my future cars from Fitzgerald and anyone i know I would recommend only Fitzgerald of Gaithersburg.

I came in right on time for my scheduled appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. I pulled in and the lane attendant took my information and said a Service Advisor would come and talk to me and directed me to the customer lounge. After 45 minutes of NO ONE coming to talk to me I went in to the lane to ask. I figured I’d start with the people socializing at the desk; there was my guy! He said the car would be another hour because the shop was backed up but he’d do what he could to make it faster - like he made it a point to come talk to me at all. I explained that I’m flexible with time, I just needed to know that what I needed done he was aware of and to get an update.
While I sat in the lounge I watched several customer service flops -
1. Talking to customers while walking away from them to get to something else...
2. oh, there’s a transmission issue... it’ll be another 2 hours... with no mention or concern for the customers time
3. Sales person complaining about a customer trade in lead

We do not usually leave reviews with anything but we cannot let this go without telling everyone about our experience. Unfortunately, like others, we have been through some pretty rough times. We have visited 3 other dealerships & was quickly dismissed once they seen what they were up against, real people who don't have a lot of money to work with & perfect credit scores! I cannot recommend Joanne Virgilio enough! Not only does she not give up, cares whole-heartedly, & understands downfalls people endeavor, but to care enough to rearrange her personal life & come in on her day off, if that does not tell you how special & caring she is!! Nobody will ever find a salesperson that will go above & beyond to do whatever they can to help you, I just cannot leave enough stars, 5 just simply is not enough! She will truly make you feel special & put you in the car of your dreams!
Buying a car can be a stressful time, paperwork, signing, Jeremy Voelkel was the absolute best from Finance. Do not shop here unless they are the only place state-wide that has your vehicle in stock. Even then I would still be weary. Your customer experience here is PURELY secondary, if even considered, at all. I set up a test drive with Tyshea, I made the Appointment for the next day at 3 pm. i arrived and for some reason she wasn't in and there was no record of my appointment for the other employees to look up. An employee named Mansoor attempted to help me, while he did eventually get me in the test drive, he seemed more bothered that I interrupted his fraternizing that was happening between him and another employee just past the main glass doors. As I attempted to show him the stock number for the vehicle so he could look it up, he grabbed my phone and started scrolling through to see more information. not only does this violate my privacy... who grabs someone else phone in the middle of a pandemic like its OK??? Immune compromised people like myself, please be weary!!!
If the issues ended there, everything would still be relatively ok. despite their lack of social distancing and massive cross contamination issues, i was still willing to go through with my purchase. Unfortunately there is no way for you to get any information without being lied to and without having to follow up with them at EVERY SINGLE STEP OF THE WAY.
If they say they will call you back at 2, expect them to NOT CALL until well past 5 or 6, assuming they call at all. There was 2 days of this kind of behavior. After repeated 1 hour holds on the phone, their excuses run along the lines of -i was just looking for your number to call you - or - a customer walked in... as if there aren't 20+ associates available, and as if you aren't an important customer because - per their suggestion, you try to do the paperwork over the phone.
So not only do you need to follow up on them every step of the way, but you're also treated in a condescending manner by the General sales manager(Mr. Selorm Tsegah) due to garnishing a lower income than your previous years due to covid. That lowered income - was still clearly enough to cover the cost of very low monthly payment i was looking at.
IF THAT ISN'T ENOUGH - and you really want to experience the full disfuntionality of Darcars Toyota in silver spring... JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU GET TO FINANCING.
Not only will they make repeated hard inquiries on your credit report nonchalantly and without Informing you of whats happening, they will also tell you different things to suit their agendas at the moment.(4 hard inquires total) From telling me the bank requested a 3k$ deposit - to them telling me they haven't even contacted the banks yet ( all verifiable by email correspondence ) You will absolutely have multiple HARD INQUIRIES placed on your credit report. for a Simple car loan where i could have came in with a deposit, they made it an absolute nightmare without even verifying ANYTHING with the banks - and they were quoting ridiculous 22-24% APR loans. they kept referencing some random arbitrary monthly payment amount that they were trying to keep me under - but they couldn't tell me what that amount was, and they couldn't tell me the variances based on loan term length/APR etc.
It is simply so unorganized that its clear the people I was involved with have absolutely no interest in doing business, or selling any car thats not high price & new so they can make the highest commission , bank on the financing to bring in money, and do the least amount of work possible. Used vehicles here are simply not worth their time, so it seems. these people just want to clock in and out - pushing a few papers and knowing ANY details about the cars on their lot is completely not part of what they consider to be their jobs. Buying from here feels like they're doing YOU a favor, and you'll have to chase them just to get anything done. PLEASE, if you have any self respect for your mental wellbeing and having a pleasant experience you'll consider any and all other options, including just walking everywhere before coming to Darcars Toyota.
