For this repair on my 2019 Ram Limited I decided to - jeffreyltucker
For this repair on my 2019 Ram Limited I decided to compare the dealership quote for repairing the Hemi tick, to two other independent auto repair places. I was shocked at the difference. In fact, the first independent auto place bid was so high, I went to a second in town for a comparative bid for the same work. The bids were both $800 higher than the dealership bid. So they must be using better, higher quality parts, right? The parts were listed on the bids so I researched the exhaust manifolds they were each bidding for. The parts were more than double what the OEM equipment was bid by the dealership. I did comparative reviews of the quality of the parts and the independent shops were bidding parts that got horrible reviews but were known for their high service shop mark-ups. I decided to go with the dealership, figuring they wouldn't be able to get my truck in until after Thanksgiving, which would have been tough for us because we had planned to take the truck on a long trip to visit family. The dealership was able to work it in the day before Thanksgiving, got the work done and called to let me know it was ready. Here comes the tough part, right? What I owe. He had to repeat it twice for me when he said "no charge." He had been making calls and checking online and found out the repairs were covered by a warranty extension I didn't know I had. Casey - you putting in the extra effort to research this couldn't have come at a better time for our family! And Nate - you juggled the schedule and got the truck in and got it done the same day and right before Thanksgiving. I also have to give a shout out to Brian, who has come through for us multiple times in the past and taken good care of all three of our vehicles. We keep coming back to this dealership because they have treated us very fairly. I have worked with a number of dealerships in the past and have to say this one stands out for caring for not only your vehicle - but investing in a long-term relationship with its customers. No quick cash grabs by overcharging. And if you haven't been in lately - their new video report of your vehicle with the mechanic walking you through what they see on your vehicle, their inspection and then what they see in terms of the repair you brought it in for is amazing. And no overselling - "Looks like you need a new whatchamagig, I'd get that done before your engine falls out..." Nope - I was told what looked good and what we didn't need to worry about. Tires? Check. Brakes? Check. I forget what else they checked and said no need to worry about but it was amazing.
We get our oil changes and brake work done at the quick change oil place they have, and we will keep having any repairs needed done here after this experience and my comparison shopping. They're setting a new standard for auto service and relationship management. Well done, One Auto/Eau Claire Automotive.
