I purchased my 2016 Toyota Corolla LE Eco BRAND NEW from Toyota of North Miami and remained a loyal customer, bringing the vehicle in for service about once or twice a year.
Over time, the white paint began peeling from multiple areas of the car, including the roof, hood, and pillars. When I first brought the issue to the dealership, I was told there was nothing they could do. Months later, after the peeling became much worse, I returned to toyota of North Miami and i was then informed that Toyota had a special repaint program for some modeles affected vehicles and was referred to another dealership (Toyota of Hollywood).
Unfortunately, by the time I got there, I was told the repaint program had expired for my car because they say contacted me by mail, but the true is I never got that letter. After the negative news from toyota of Hollywood, I contacted Toyota Corporate, but they also declined assistance because the deadline had passed they said.
My biggest disappointment is that I was an active customer of Toyota of North Miami and regularly serviced my vehicle there, yet I was never notified while i went for service, neither by phone that a program existed to correct this known paint defect. Had I been informed while the program was active, my car could have been repaired. Instead, I am left with extensive paint damage that significantly affects the appearance and value of my vehicle.
I have always trusted Toyota for its quality and customer service, but this experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.
