Chris Mondolfi welcomed us and he was very kind, professional and efficient. The technician also done a great job. This is our first time for the service. Sure we will come back! Had to bring in my new 2 week old legacy for service because there were exposed electrical wires on the drivers side view mirror. This should have been noticed and addressed before l picked up the car. Subaru service station mechanic fixed it within 20 minutes. The mechanic and the manager also researched and set up the auto retract feature that could not be resolved at the dealership. From the intake person to the manager and the mechanic they were extremely patient and pleasant.

Marc went above and beyond to help me with everything I needed. My car was done with service quickly and was even detailed it for me!! I will definitely be back to Bay Ridge Subaru!

Unfortunately after just 400 miles. The right front strut on my daughters impreza limited was defective. The Cracker jack technician diagnosed the problem and replaced the unit. This staff at Subaru has years of experience behind them. And give you what you would expect at a high end dealership, such as lexus. 5 stars for all involved.

I just could not give an "excellent" rating because there were new problems that have cropped up with the new management at Subaru of Troy. I brought my car in for a NYS inspection. I always wait for my car in the lounge area. First thing I noticed was the tv was on a repeating commercial and never changed while I was there. Previously, the tv was on cable and game shows or talk shows were playing. Second thing I noticed was a sales person trying to talk customers into getting them to have an appraisal done on their car while it was in for service. He explained that their car can be used for a trade in on another vehicle and the benefits of purchasing a newer car. It seemed like I was there for hours with no tv to look at. I asked the service advisor about the tv not being utilized and was told that the tv was just a nuisance according to management. I don't think I will be waiting for my car on the next service trip. I also don't want a salesperson trying to get an appraisal on my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek. Please change the lounge area back to the way it used to be with the TV ON TO CABLE and NO SALESPERSON ANNOYING CUSTOMERS!

BEST DEALERSHIP I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH IN 40 YEARS OF DRIVING!!!!! I chose Van Bortel for their honesty,value and superior service. If a dealer is scheduling several weeks out it usually means they provide honest and excellent service so EVERYONE wants to go there!!! If I need a New York State Inspection I know a whole year in advance and plan for it as responsible people should. I have also used their EXPRESS SERVICE without an appointment for simple services such as an inspection and oil changes and I LOVE IT!!!! To Mr 1 Star Negativity you should know they and all other dealers offer EXPRESS SERVICE quit being ENTITLED AND RUDE please be respectful!!!!

I brought my 2023 Subaru Ascent in for a braking issue (grinding / pulsing) to Van Bortel after taking it to another Subaru dealer in our area. The previous shop wanted to apply a band aid fix and not address the core issue. Van Bortel assessed the issue and replaced defective parts against the vehicles warranty. All the staff were friendly and helpful, a loaner vehicle was provided. I was treated with respect and made me feel welcome. I wish I had bought my car there. All our future maintenance will be done at Van Bortel going forward.
