I would like to tell you about my experience while visiting your VW dealership in Downingtown with my 17-year-old son on 1/1/2024. We are looking for a car for his 18th birthday. When we entered the VW dealership at approximately 1pm, we immediately heard “where are you going?’ I replied “here”, at this point I’m confused, because with 5 or 6 men sitting behind the front desk, I didn’t know who I was talking to. A gentleman then asked me “what am I looking for” and I replied and VW Jetta for my son. At this point no one welcomed me and my son and introduced themselves. I then heard (before I knew his name, Walter Konyk) say that he could help me. Walter walked to the back and came back with key and said follow me. We went outside and he opened the doors to a silver Jetta and said take a look. By now I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome in this dealership, but I did not want to ruin this for my son. After my son sat inside the vehicle he asked if we could test drive the car, Walter stated, “I guess” and asked for my driver license. Once inside the dealership we sat at Walters desk as he began to input my license information. Walter then asked me “Do you live in Philadelphia and use an XXXX address to get cheaper insurance?” I was immediately taken aback by the question and responded that I gave you a valid Pa issued driver’s license and to please use the address on the license. At this point maybe 15 minutes into the visit, I as Walter for his card, Walter then extended his hand and introduced himself. Again, I didn’t want to spoil my son’s experience, but my thought was to just get up and leave. Walter took us on a test drive and after we returned to the dealership, he seemed not to be interested in trying to make a sale. I asked Walter to please print up the sticker price of a VW Jetta Sport and show me any discounts that can be applied to that particular vehicle. Walter retuned and gave me a Work Sheet with only the VW Jetta Sports MSRP, and associated fees with the purchase of the vehicle, no discount. I had had enough, so I thanked Walter and my son, and I left the dealership. Once my son and I got to our vehicle, my son asked me why Walter asked me if we were from Philadelphia and why we received such a cold reception. With all of this said, my son and I’s experience in your dealership was less than pleasant, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. Our reception was cold and unwelcoming, Walter was unprofessional and biased. This email does not come close to expressing the horrible service me and my son were exposed to by the employees of this dealership. My hope with this email is that anyone involved in this interaction on January 1st, learns to keep their person bias to themselves when working with the public and treat everyone with the respect that we all deserve until shown or proven otherwise.

Really positive experience dealing with Three Rivers VW. From my first interaction inquiring about selling my wife’s Jetta to them, to ultimately trading in for a new Taos, I felt that at every level they were transparent, fair and ethical. I am a knowledgeable consumer with many years’ experience purchasing/leasing vehicles; I ask informed questions and generally anticipate dealer tendencies to overcharge, mislead or otherwise malpractice throughout the process. Some might consider me a challenging customer due to these factors. However, at every point the staff at 3RVW remained patient, courteous and attentive to all inquiries, answering all my questions and corresponding in a thoughtful and professional manner. When the time came to take delivery, they were very respectful of our time in making the process efficient and even adapting to accommodate our newborn and toddler. The three gentlemen I dealt with throughout the duration of this deal were Nigel (Sales Professional), Pat (General Sales Manager), and Seth (Finance Manager). I would recommend anybody in the market for a new or preowned VW to make this your first call. *OF NOTE: After agreeing in principle to terms, I reached out to a different area VW dealer to see if they would like the opportunity to beat the deal I had in place, and they did. While their deal was compelling, the ensuing dialogue proved them to be arrogant, rude and misleading, and therefore not worth pursuing a business relationship with. I can rest better knowing I’ve conducted my business with a company who holds themselves to a higher standard of care.

Unprofessional, rude and inconsiderate (unless you are giving them money). I used "cars.com" to search for a Mazda CX-5. I hit the "Check Availability" button and entered my information. Not 15 seconds later I receive three text messages, a phone call and an e-mail from several people (Chris, Mara to name two) inviting me to see the car. I indicated that I was driving from TWO HOURS away to see the car and made an appointment with Chris with every intention of buying the car. My wife dropped me off at the dealership to go do things with the kids while I purchased the car and I walked in the dealership, 10 minutes early for my appointment. Place was busy, but no one was there to greet me at the door. I decided to go outside and see the car, and when I returned through the side entrance I was greeted and asked if I needed help. When I said I was there for my appointment to see the CX-5, her face turned sour and she went back to the room where the managers were. I overheard one of them tell her the car was sold. I immediately got angry, but calmly reminded them I had just driven two hours to buy the car. I poked into the office area and the one manager (do not have name but young guy with a beard) simply said "it sold 15 minutes ago" and looked at me like something was wrong with me for showing up for an appointment. I fully understand the first money and signature buys the car. That is not the point. Car deals do not take 15 minutes. They knew 1-2 hours earlier that someone was test driving the car and starting to talk numbers. They could have simply texted me, maybe ask for deposit if I really wanted the car, I would have been completely understanding and happy. The day before they texted me in 15 seconds and jumped all over me by phone call, text and e-mail when I showed interest in the car. Also, no apology was given by anyone who promised me the appointment. The manager sat there and did nothing to apologize or offer me other cars I might be interested in. The attitude was that I was bothering them by showing up for an appointment they scheduled. Of course they will post some apology here, but too little too late. Here is how you handle the situation: You made a mistake and have an unhappy customer in your show room? APOLOGIZE. OFFER. Screw ups happen. I'm fine with that. I am not fine with people who are INCONSIDERATE of others time. Wasn't just the manager, there were 3-4 people involved in my appointment who should have contacted me or at least APOLOGIZED. Don't do business with these people. They only care about your money.

I was the victim of a red light runner in mid December and lost my beloved VW Golf. I spent 3 painstaking weeks looking for a decent vehicle within my budget without having to finance. I would rather be physically hit by a car then deal with another car dealership EXCEPT for Garnet VW!! As soon as you request info, car dealerships blow you up!! My phone was ringing off the hook, text out the wazoo, and endless emails!! I stumbled up a gem at Garnet VW and requested email only. The following morning Steve, the manager, emailed me and we corresponded throughout the day. Not a single call or text!! I arrived that evening at Garnet and was handed the keys to the 2014 Kia Soul and told "take your time, you don't need a baby sitter". It was a breath of fresh air to not be forced in to small talk and a sign of respect. I'm sure if I was looking at a $50,000 new car things might have been different but it made a world of difference to me! I returned to a sales associate, Fran, showing me the ins & outs of the vehicle. Sat down with Steve and we struck a deal! As it was nearing the end of the night and dinner time, Fran brought out a variety of snacks & beverages while the car was being prepped and the paperwork completed. AND per request, they dug out a desk calendar for me! It was an absolute pleasure shopping with Garnet VW!!

THIS IS HOW A VETERAN IS TREATED AT GILBOY FORD I'm in the car business and Gilboy Ford is the kind of dealership that gives the industry a bad name. If anyone at my dealership acted like this, I would have fired them. On May 4th I contacted Gilboy Ford about buying a car, we came to an agreement on price. I asked several questions about the car's condition, if it had been smoked in, any leaks or problems with the car. etc. I live in North Carolina and buying a car sight unseen can be stressful. You're hoping that the dealership is a reputable one. Boy was I wrong! On May 6th The finance person Maria is a total smart xxx. She went on my work company website to make sure I was a real person. (HER WORDS) Then called me and said wow I hope that's your daughter that works in the parts dept.. Really? Yes that's my daughter! We work at the same dealership. What are you implying? Very disrespectful and unprofessional. This is the kind of person that makes you never buy a car at a dealership again. From the words I would like to buy this car. All I have heard is lie after lie with sarcasm. After several days I received my paperwork via fedex. I signed, scanned and emailed all forms back to Maria and Next day aired via FedEx all paperwork. I put insurance on the car and waited. And waited. I could not get an answer as to when I could pick up the car. As I had scheduled a shipping company to pick it up for me. After calling day after day and was told (when Maria did answer her phone) that. She was not going to give me the car until she had money from the bank in her account. So I called my bank and they had advised me that Gilboy Ford was paid the day after sending the paperwork. What the heck. Why the delay? After waiting for several days, She told me they had the money. So I sent the shipping company to pick it up. Guess what Gilboy Ford would not release the car to the shipping company. WOW NO CAR!. So I had to pay a shipping company for 3 days to wait for it. Hotel, Meals etc. Lets just say it cost me a small fortune. Maria would not answer or take any of my calls. My salesperson told me to talk to Maria. On May 18th I was told again to come get the car. Finally!! The driver from the shipping company called me and told me he has the car. The shipping company took pictures of when they loaded the car. I wish I had seen it before I bought it. The pictures on the dealership website do not look like the car I got in my opinion. Car showed up the next day at my home. This car was a gift to my wife. The car was super nasty. My wife found a chicken wing under the seat. Really! . No gas, check engine light was on and bad brakes. And a huge dent in the frt fender. And to top it off it had been smoked in. And one of my first questions was DID IT SMELL LIKE SMOKE! Had to spend $582 on new brakes. $380 for a 02 sensor, $1100 on a new fender, $160 TPS sensor. and $800 paint. Now I have a bad oil leak. And we have only been 50 miles .....REALLY.... It's now July 7th and my wife can't drive the car. Temp tag is expired. I paid for a North Carolina tag but have not received it. Called Maria she advised me it's after 5pm I'll check tomorrow. It was 5:15pm. Called the next day before 5pm and asked for my tag that I paid for and was told just use a dealer tag from my place of employment until she can figure out whats the problem. Wow first off I can't use my North Carolina dealer tag it's against the law. NOTE when a dealership has not supplied a Hard Tag for a vehicle this usually means they don't have the title! Marie would now no longer talk to me as her part was done. WOW I have no tag for the car. All I asked for was to buy a good clean car free of needing 100's of dollars of work! receive it in a timely manner with a tag and give me what I paid for. I would love for a manager or owner to contact me. I have left several messages with no return call or email. I just need my Tags.
