My wife and I visited Suburban Honda in Farmington to get an oil change and an appraisal on our 2024 Honda HR-V, as the lease was expiring.
We were paired with Andrew Perkins, who walked us through the different options for our trade-in in detail. He was incredibly helpful, and we decided to take a couple of days to come back after we had time to digest the numbers he provided.
When we returned, we ended up loving the 2026 CR-V Hybrid. We had several questions for Andrew and for Dontae about promotional rates, APR, and different scenarios to maximize the value of the deal. Throughout the entire process, they were extraordinarily kind and patient. They answered all of our questions in detail and were never pushy, even when discussing accessories and add-on packages we weren’t interested in.
What stood out most was that it felt like they were listening more than talking, which is a rare and welcome quality in sales. We felt respected and never felt hurried, even though the Saturday we came back was clearly busy. Andrew remained attentive while balancing multiple customers, and Dontae stepped in seamlessly whenever Andrew was with other customers. It genuinely felt like our experience was the priority, not the sale.
We ended up purchasing the CR-V Hybrid, and Dontae was kind enough to work in some additional benefits we had initially declined at a price point that made sense for us.
We’ve had tremendously pleasant experiences with Suburban Honda in the past when we purchased our first two Hondas, and I have no doubt we’ll be back for future purchases. Honda makes great vehicles, but the dealership experience can vary widely even within the same brand. Suburban Honda is, without question, the best in metro Detroit. Having been to other Honda dealerships in the area, I wouldn’t recommend anyone go anywhere else.
The folks at Suburban Honda in Farmington have consistently been the easiest and most pleasant to work with. We will be going there for all future Honda purchases, services, and repairs. That loyalty is based on our experiences and the authenticity we felt working with the people in that building, particularly Andrew and Dontae. They are second to none.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
