It is rare these days for businesses to go the extra mile to please a customer but hats off to Texana (Cecil Atkission) Toyota to going the extra 330 miles. After having a 2023 Toyota bZ4x sold out from under me by Shottenkirk Toyota in Hudson Oaks, TX, Terry Sinclair called offering to do a deal online and deliver the car from Orange to Fort Worth. After the deal was done in about an hour at 8pm on a Friday night (kudos to Muriel Brown the finance manager), there were some EV learning curve issues with the gentlemen who were driving the vehicle up Saturday and they had to turn back. The General Manager Mike Grewenig called profusely apologized and offered to have Mr. Sinclair drive the car up overnight Saturday, a $250 Amazon gift card and a second key. I didn't want anyone on the road all night for a vehicle so they shipped to vehicle Monday. Subsequently, they delivered all promises. If they have a vehicle you want, reach out to Texana Toyota and they will treat you right!!! Their customer service is off the charts!!!

BUYER BEWARE - Fraudulent Misrepresentation of Vehicle Condition** I purchased a 2013 Toyota Corolla on June 12, 2025, from Mike Shaw Toyota for $10,500 after their salesperson texted me that the vehicle was in "mint condition." Since I live 3.5 hours away, I had to rely completely on their word and the photos they sent me. **What They Promised:** - Texted "mint condition" - Sent selective photos hiding damage - Assured me there were no issues when I specifically asked **What I Actually Received:** - Extensive paint deterioration and rust formation across THE ENTIRE roof, hood, and trunk - One bad tire (told all tires were "good condition") - Non-working tire pressure monitoring system - Suspension needing replacement within a year **The paint damage is so severe that bare metal is showing and rust is forming. This is NOT normal wear - this is obvious damage that existed when they sold it to me.** **Deceptive Sales Practices:** - Made me pay the full $10,500 BEFORE allowing me to sign the contract - Deliberately took photos that hid the extensive roof/hood/trunk damage - Claimed "mint condition" while knowing about obvious paint failure - Discovered all issues within 24 hours of delivery **Financial Impact:** Professional estimates show $3,000-$5,000 needed to repair the paint damage they concealed. I specifically bought this car because I needed something reliable that wouldn't need immediate repairs. **This wasn't just poor disclosure - this was deliberate fraud.** The paint deterioration covers 50%+ of the vehicle's visible surfaces. Any honest inspection would have revealed this damage immediately. **I am currently pursuing resolution through legal channels and regulatory complaints.** **AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP.** Their "mint condition" promise was worthless, and they use high-pressure tactics like demanding full payment before contract signing. Don't make the same mistake I did - inspect any vehicle thoroughly before purchase, because Mike Shaw Toyota cannot be trusted to honestly represent their inventory. **UPDATE: Dealer agreed to allow me to return the vehicle for a full refund**

Five stars. Highly recommend. I searched the country for the exact Tundra I wanted. I had a very narrow search, specific year, trim, mileage, and color combination. After weeks of searching, I found it on the lot at Family Toyota of Burleson. I'm out of state, so Jairus gave me a FaceTime tour of the vehicle. He never rushed the conversation or put any pressure on my decision. Instead, he answered every question thoughtfully and honestly. He didn't tell me what I wanted to hear, he actually knew the truck inside and out. Since it was pre-owned, he made it a point to show me every small imperfection I would inevitably see after purchasing it. There weren't many, but doing this built my confidence that nothing was being hidden. We openly discussed pricing, vehicle history, transportation cost, and the trade-offs of buying out of state. Together we landed on a fair price that accounted for my travel expenses and I put down a deposit. Manny promptly secured financing that beat my local credit union by 15 bps. Everyone did their jobs. At this point the deal was essentially done. This is where Jairus stepped up and earned a customer for life. My flight into Dallas on the Fourth of July wasn’t scheduled to arrive until 4:00pm. My plan was to Uber to the dealership, sign the paperwork, and get on the road toward Amarillo by sundown. Knowing how important it was to save time, Jairus reached out with an idea. He offered to pick me up from the airport in the Tundra so I could skip the Uber, finish the paperwork with him, and get a head start on the drive home. He had already closed the deal. His job was done. He still chose to go out of his way to take care of a customer he had already earned. During the drive, he mentioned that Independence Day is an important tradition for his family. They get together every year for dinner and fireworks. He would already be celebrating had he not decided to make my experience better. Every once in a while you meet someone who genuinely cares about doing excellent work, takes pride in serving others, and represents their company with integrity. Jairus is one of those people. My experience with the rest of the team at the dealership was nothing but positive too. Well done to everyone involved. Buying a vehicle sight unseen from another state requires a tremendous amount of trust. Family Toyota earned mine, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family looking for an honest dealership. Ask for Jairus.

I have probably purchased over 20 vehicles in my lifetime and I have never had the pleasure of working with an individual more knowledgeable about his business. Sean was quick to answer all questions and concerns. He showed pride in his dealership by giving us a tour of the new service department renovations. To save us a drive he delivered finance paperwork to the house for signatures. I will certainly go to Sean for my next Toyota.

Unfortunately had to change what was originally a 5 star experience to a 1 (if not 0) I had a good experience buying my truck in early February this year, and sales were great. What makes this a horrible experience is how this dealership is treating me as a post sale customer and with my car title. They apparently had issues getting my car title (which they never mentioned, I only found our after submitting a request to get a copy of a title myself after 2-3 months not getting one) I was denied getting a title from Texas DMV saying Family Toyota submitted the wrong title when applying for my title, and they didnt send the most recent one. Now when I call, they just keep putting me on hold until I just get hung up on or sent to voicemail. Its soon to be 5 months from when I purchased my car, and I still have no car title in hand. The Texas DMV even mentioned my title on this clean car might get branded because of their hiccups, but I couldn’t even tell if that’s true since I don’t have a title. Kind of frustrating to spend dozens of thousands of dollars with a company who clearly doesn’t care about their clients once you take the car keys and submit payment. I was recommending and buttering this dealership to my colleagues and friends in Texas, but definitely will have to stop doing that.

Went into this dealership looking for a specific vehicle we had already seen a few days earlier. Unfortunately it sold before we came back, which was completely understandable and not an issue. What became the issue was everything that happened afterward. The dealership assured us it would be “super easy” to locate the exact vehicle we wanted and had us move forward with a credit application based on numbers they quoted us at around a $900/month payment. We trusted what we were being told and allowed them to run our credit. For the next two weeks, we were repeatedly told they were searching for the vehicle and gave the impression everything was progressing normally. Then suddenly we were told the vehicle would actually need to be custom ordered from Toyota because it supposedly wasn’t easy to get after all. On top of that, the original payment numbers they wrote up were somehow “completely wrong,” and the actual payment would now be around $1,400/month — a massive difference that should never happen if the numbers were calculated honestly and professionally from the start. So after weeks of wasted time, multiple misleading statements, and an unnecessary hit to our credit, we ended up with no vehicle and zero accountability from the dealership. Extremely disappointing experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Despite how busy they were over the weekend, we were able to finish our business quickly.
