Had to take my 2020 Tiguan in for an EPA related recall. Was able to get an appointment quickly. Service was crowded that day so the wait time was a little longer than usual. Complimentary coffee and soda are available. It took about a hour and half. Staff is very friendly. VW of Riverside is a professional service center which focuses on customer satisfaction.

I have really enjoyed my experience with volkswagon of downtown LA. I have been to the dealership twice and each time it has been a great experience. The first time was to replace a gas cap and the parts department were quick personable and easy to understand. The second time, I had some repairs to complete on my vehicle and Ryan, my service writer, was great. He advised and explained everything clearly that I needed to know about my vehicle. I even found out when I picked it up that they filled my washer fluid at no charge without me even asking. (Light came on a couple days before I brought it in). Would definitely take my car in again.

This is THE place you want to take your bmw (or Mercedes) if you live in SD and are either out of warranty or doing aftermarket modifications.
I’ve come here about fifteen times in the past 7 years for multiple cars and they are simple the best in SD. I’ve tried all the shops, and none can compare.
Shane is an honest guy he runs this place with integrity and he can diagnose things in minutes that takes others hours or even days!

Let me do you a favor by not buying a car from this location. I had no *real* issues with this dealership until the sunroof that was installed in my car was literally pulled out by the dryer in a car wash. After a handful of phone calls/research, it turned out VW of Oakland contracted with a third-party installer for an aftermarket product. Having said this, there was a safety recall goes back to 2011 and according to the manufacturer, I was never notified by VW of Oakland. When I called VW of Oakland of what had happened, they expressed zero empathy. Instead, the owner of the dealership became defensive and hung up the phone on me when all i wanted was him to help me identify that installer, who was probably under more of a primary obligation to provide me with notice that there was a safety recall 9 years ago.
I don't think it's right for the dealership to take the position that they share no responsibility to ensure that in those situations where they coordinated the installation of these sunroofs as a sales incentive, they too had a responsibility to make sure the manufacturer had a way to connect with the end user in case of a recall or similar issue.
Take this information as you see fit, but do yourself a favor and be cautious of when a salesman offers to throw in a sunroof!!!
