Evan (Service Manager), Dimitra (Service Advisor) and Ricardo (Technician) are simply fantastic. I had recently purchased an Audi Q7 and brought the car in immediately for service. Evan greeted and congratulated me on the new purchase followed by Dimitra who sat down with me and explained next steps in complete detail. I received a very thorough review from Ricardo who stepped me through all his findings. We went through the action plan in detail where recommendations were brought forth and everything was competed in a timely fashion. There are no gimmicks here where "you need this and that fixed immediately!". The staff was upfront about what needed to be done and what to keep an eye on. This is what makes Audi Silver Spring the de-facto service center for all your Audi service needs. Here, you get an up front assessment and you're treated like person and not a bank account. In June 2020, I purchased a used 2011 Subaru Outback with only 51,000 miles. I wanted the car to be thoroughly inspected to see what services may be needed to bring the car up to speed. My previous car had 385,000 miles on it because I am very particular about servicing my car regularly, as well as finding the best shop or dealership to service my vehicles. An acquaintance who also owns an Outback recommended trying Herb Gordon Subaru, so I gave their service department a call. Claudia Herrera, a service advisor at Herb Gordon, asked me to come in that same day. I was already impressed with their service! After the mechanic, Matt, inspected the car, both Claudia and Matt came out to tell me what services the car could use and why they would be beneficial. Claudia gave me an estimate for each recommended service so I could have the work done over time in a budget-friendly manner. Since that first visit, Matt has done all of the service work on my Outback. I find this really helpful because he has become familiar with my car, and he understands my desire to keep my Outback well maintained. If the service schedule allows, he’s the only one I really want working on my car because I really trust his knowledge and judgment. Because I’ve followed the advice of both Claudia and Matt over the past year, my Outback now runs quieter, it’s more fuel efficient than when I purchased it, and it’s a pleasure to drive on road trips. It takes me almost an hour to get to Herb Gordon Subaru, but the quality, friendly service I’ve received there is so worth the trip. In early March, I purchased a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 from Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown. Overall, I had a positive experience, which I have documented in a separate review on DealerRater. The subject of this review is an after-sale experience I had with the license plate bracket on my AMG C43.
When I purchased the vehicle in March, Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown installed a temporary plate on the vehicle. On May 1, my permanent license plate arrived in the mail, and I set out to swap it onto my vehicle. One of the bolts holding the temporary plate in place had been screwed in especially tightly, and when I tried to unscrew it, the license plate bracket snapped. I determined at this point that I needed a new bracket.
I was surprised when the first two dealerships I called asked me to make an appointment to swap the bracket, given that it would be no more than a 5-10 minute job. The third dealership I called (Mercedes-Benz of Bloomfield Hills) let me come by right away, and they swapped on the new bracket very quickly. However, I was frustrated when they refused my request to treat the bracket failure as a warranty claim and instead charged me $70 for it.
I complained to Mercedes-Benz USA, and they recommended that I contact the dealership that sold me the vehicle: Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown. I corresponded with sales manager Austin Shemon, who was polite, understanding, and helpful. He quickly agreed to reimburse me for the majority of the cost of the bracket and overnighted me a check.
Based on my positive experience, I recommend Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown to anyone who is looking to purchase a Mercedes-Benz vehicle.
