We had an exceptional experience with Mercedes-Benz of Plano while purchasing our new GLE450. We negotiated the deal with Ryan from out of state. He worked with us to get us the exact trim and features we wanted. There were no surprises when we arrived after a three hour drive. The deal we negotiated remotely was the deal upon arrival. Nick in finance was great with the paperwork. Finally, Tyler stayed late to run us through the new tech in the vehicle. So much better than our prior car purchasing experiences. Despite the new car cost it was painless!

The great thing about Jim is that he CARES about the customer & when you listen & put their needs & wants 1st without trying to upsell them; then you will have a client & referrals for life. I knew Jim from a previous car company & he was instrumental in the care of my previous car. So, when the opportunity presented itself to be able to choose a Mercedes, I sought him out. I was lucky that he was there. He & the team w/ Justin were great in helping me through the whole process. I highly recommend them. Even after the car was purchased, Jim took the time to be with me in the car when the tech person who was showing me the array of choices & Jim actually remembered several things I had said when we were in a different model & he had the person adjust those things in this car to my liking. That is attention to detail! It is not often that I run into such a caring sales rep like him which is why I wanted to take the time to acknowledge the great experience I had.

Dishonest or Totally Incompetent Mercedes Benz Dealer or maybe Both. I tried to purchase a nice Mercedes SL550 from April Ballard last month, May of 2025. She told me that I needed to place an immediate $5000 down payment to secure the car as other people were also looking at it. I agreed and gave them my Credit Card to run the $5000 down payment, also my drivers license, and Insurance Card to lock up the deal. She asked if I would be paying Cash or Financing, I said most likely Financing as I could get a low interest rate with my 800 plus credit score. She then said that she could offer a better rate with only a soft pull on verifying my credit score and assured me that this would not show on my credit report, so I agreed. Then came back to me with my credit score of 837 but then said the Car being 12 years old they could not offer a better or matching rate then my local source. I agreed to pay Cash and asked for bank wiring instructions. I then got a signed proposal from their sales manager Kurt Moyer who added a $1995.00 fee for their Auto Butler add-on services which I declined after a brief heated discussion with him as April had told me it was optional on my part. I then have a signed off purchase agreement document from sales Manager Kurt Moyer stating the agreed amount ( I paid full asking price), plus all dealer fees with balance due after my $5000 down payment. I asked April for bank wiring instruction so we can get everything done so I can make arrangements to fly into Lubbock to pick up the car or arrange transportation to have it shipped home to Utah. She said the Finance Manager was backed up and they would be sent soon, as I wanted to get to the Bank to get the wire transfer out. 5 hours later I get a call from their finance manager Jerry Cotrell I believe is his name telling me they had sold the car to someone else. He was very rude and called me "Petty" for complaining. I told him he had run a hard Pull on my Credit Report that stays on for 2 years without my authorization and wanted it removed. He stated he would look into it and could not believe I was so upset. All the people I worked with April, Kurt, and Jerry told me it was the the General Manager Josh Stevens decision to sell the car out from underneath me, my assumption since I wasn't buying their $2000 Auto Butler services and Financing with them, they decided to sell it to someone else that would, even after I have a signed Purchase quote and gave them a down payment and all my personal information to complete the sale. Bottom Line, 1. They agreed in writing to sell me the car at their listing Price 2. They took my Credit Card for a $5000 down payment. 3. They ran a Hard Pull on my Credit without my permission. 4. They have my drivers license and Insurance information, 6. I now have a 2 year Credit Inquiry on my Credit Report. 7. They sold the car out from underneath me and called me Petty for complaining. I would expect more from a Mercedes Benz Dealership. You would think Mercedes Benz would have higher expectations of their dealers. I know I do. Buyer be Very Aware when dealing with Mercedes Benz of Lubbock even if you have it in writing. I have proof of all paperwork and documentation. Regards, Teddy P.

I regularly purchase vehicles out of state and rarely write reviews, but this experience stands out for the wrong reasons. I agreed to terms on a car and was ready to move forward. Instead, the dealership delayed the process on their end while “checking with other dealers” and handling things internally. During that time — after several messages, a few phone calls, and multiple days of back-and-forth — the car was sold to someone else. This wasn’t a case of a last-minute competing buyer. It reflects a lack of deal control and a willingness to continue shopping a vehicle even after terms are agreed, without clearly communicating that to the buyer. At the level of purchasing a $90K+ vehicle in cash, there should be a much higher standard of professionalism, transparency, and follow-through. Instead, I was left in limbo while the dealership continued to pursue other options behind the scenes. The result was a complete waste of time and a breakdown in trust. If a dealership is not prepared to secure a vehicle once terms are agreed, that should be made explicitly clear upfront. Proceed with caution, and make sure you have explicit written confirmation that a vehicle is being held before assuming a deal is in place.

The idea of been bullied all day long, shuffled around to different departments like a ping pong ball to eventually end up furiously signing page after page of documents full of legal jargon without bothering to read the fine print or caring, because I just want to get the xxxx out of there! I dreaded it so much that by the time my trusty Tahoe limped into the dealership, it simply collapsed like a marathon runner after crossing the finish line and whispered, “it’s time, Lisa. I can see the light... Let me go for god’s sake!” 😵😂 I was nervous, hesitant and not looking forward to the day, but I had done my homework and was ready for battle. I knew what vehicle I wanted, was already approved for financing, wrangled up a down payment to show them I was serious and alerted the sales manager I was coming. I had even brought my father with me. A no-nonsense retired Naval Officer. As soon as I entered the Mercedes showroom, an Angel named Elizabeth Speers, welcomed us into her office. She took my hand and gently guided me throughout the process. I kept waiting for something to dampen my day; an evil Mercedes associate to pop out and ruin this pleasant experience, but IT NEVER HAPPENED! I stated my case to Elizabeth. She handed me and my father the keys to the Mercedes and told us to go test drive it, while she tried to meet my requests. When we returned a short time later she was ready to do business. Thirty minutes later I was on my way to lunch while the paperwork was being prepared. I next found myself in the finance department. I thought, “this is it. This is going to suck.” I was wrong. We signed paperwork with movie star gorgeous and very dapper, Jabin Smythe. I signed paperwork and we shared Seinfeld anecdotes and cracked up. It was quick and painless and the icing on the cake was a lower interest rate compared to what I managed with my bank. I finished my day with my new friend, Elizabeth Speers, whom took the time to show me what all of the buttons and dials did in my beautiful new Mercedes-Benz. That’s when I meet Todd, the Mercedes guru, whom made me feel confident that he’d have my back when issues arise in the future. Look, I did my homework prior to setting foot in the dealership. I could’ve gone to OKC, Tulsa, Dallas, but the biggest lure for me is the service they provide after the sale. Whenever I need maintenance, an associate will drive to my home, pick up my car, provide me with a loaner and deliver my serviced vehicle back to my home. I don’t even live in the same state! 🤯🤯🤯 Patterson has almost every brand of vehicle you could ever want. It’s like a Disney World for car buyers. Do your homework, put some comfortable shoes on and head to Patterson for your next vehicle purchase. And if you see Elizabeth, tell her the Naval Captain and Lisa sent ya! 😊
