Beyond Exceptional Experience—Worth Every Single One of the 70 Miles!
I was in the market for a 2026 Ford F-350 Super Duty and found the exact vehicle advertised at Columbia Ford/Kia in Columbia, CT. Even though this exact truck was a match at several locations much closer to where I live, I decided to drive past multiple other Ford dealerships and travel 70 miles each way to give them a shot. It was the best decision I could have made.
Every single interaction—from the receptionist at the front desk to sales, parts, and service—was beyond exceptional.
The moment I walked through the door, the welcome greeting was truly heartfelt. Every employee working there was professional, greeted me warmly, wished me a happy experience, and couldn't have been more helpful.
My sales consultant, Don Offner, made this interaction go completely better than expected. There wasn't one ounce of high-pressure sales tactics. I had a deep interest in this Super Duty and had a list of questions ready. Before I could even ask one, Don thanked me for traveling so far to their dealership. He immediately retrieved the truck, brought it right to the front door, and simply said, "Ask away."
Don's knowledge of the F-350 Super Duty's specs and options was exceptional. He walked around the vehicle with me, explaining every detail I inquired about. The biggest takeaway from this first encounter was that Don didn't start with the usual dealership nonsense or grill me about my buying intentions. He actually listened!
If more salespeople were like Don, the car-buying world would be a wonderful place.
When it came time to pursue the actual deal-making process—a part of buying a car that absolutely no one brags about—the seamless service continued. Instead of being forced to sit in the "penalty box" of a salesman's desk, nervously going over and over what I wanted, I was shown to a comfortable waiting lounge equipped with all the necessities of home.
The Sales Manager, Jay Roderick, came over to greet me personally after reviewing my data sheet. He expressed genuine appreciation for my time and the long distance I traveled to give them a shot at my business. He promised he would do his absolute best to put together a great deal for me—and no punches were pulled.
Jay and Don broke the good news to me with absolute transparency. They showed me all available incentives and offered a very great price on my trade-in. This was, in fact, the best deal of my entire search and buying experience.
While the usual paperwork on any vehicle sale is notoriously daunting, they made the process as short as possible. During the transition, I was given a thorough tour of their service department, parts department, and even their excellent in-house cafe.
When it came time to sit down with the Business Manager—a step everyone knows can be stressful—Jake Gurzler made this arduous process completely painless. He clearly answered all of my financial and warranty concerns without making me feel rushed.
The delivery of the truck was powerful. Don walked me through a very thorough, bumper-to-bumper inspection, and his superb knowledge of the Super Duty platform shined through once again.
As I finally drove off the lot in my new truck, I realized something remarkable: they never once pressured me to write a review. At past dealerships, I've had my arm twisted just to reassure them I would give them perfect scores. Columbia Ford never did that.
This is a review I wanted to share entirely freely, without any persuasion or compensation, because of the great experience they provided.
Great job, Team Columbia Ford! You have earned a customer for life.
If you want an honest, pressure-free, and respectful truck-buying experience, skip your local dealer and go see Don and Jay. They make the drive completely worth it!
