2nd in 3 months - Dutchman
We believe in dealer maintenance and take care of our cars because we keep them for a long time. We found ourselves with two cars, both almost 15 years old, both with over 125,000 miles. We have ridden in newer Escapes with friends who are now on their 4th one. We had long planned to replace one our cars with an Escape. That time came several months ago. After one vacation motor trip and lots of "local" driving of 50 milers or less, we liked the Escape so much that we took advantage of an opportunity and bought a second Escape 2-1/2 months after buying the first one. Both were low mileage and certified by our dealer of over 10 years. Couldn't be happier with the cars and all aspects of the sales process. From experience, we know that service will continue to be excellent with this dealer, Whaling City Ford in New London, CT.

One of the oldest dealerships in the country - ZeroAviation
Not only is Bowen's Garage one of the oldest dealerships in the country. They maintain the honest, direct, no pressure sales that could only be found in the 60's.
If you want a good deal, without the high pressure sales environment, Bowen's garage is for you.
Leasing a Ford Escape - Yankee fan
We were out to lease a new small SUV and had tried and tested a number of brands. It came down to two dealerships and two different makes and models of cars. We chose the Ford Escape because it had some nice features that the other one did not and we really liked our salesman, Dan. Even though he was new to the car selling scene he was very knowledgable and helpful in the process. We have only had our car a little over a month and Dan has been very diligent in calling periodically and asking us how we like our car and if there are any questions or concerns we might have. Only suggestion we have for the dealership is that the service waiting room could be a little more inviting. Otherwise, all went well.
One of the smoothest car purchase I have ever experienced! - DC4
As an out of state customer I contacted Bob Thomas Ford and was contacted by their Internet Sales Manager Jay Proto. Jay was extremely attentive and very professional. He informed me of all the cars equipment and we were able to come to what I feel was- good price for the car. I was so impressed that even after we had agreed on a price Jay offered to deliver my car to my home which is ~300 miles away! The deal went extremely well and the car was just as described by Jay. I would recommend Jay to anyone local to the dealership as well as anyone from out of state! Thank you Jay for a stress free professional transaction.

Simply the best! - countrygirl
I am from out-of-state. My vehicle experienced its 2nd major, expensive problem within 4 days - its 19 yr old - and I knew the time had come to part with it and purchase another used vehicle.
I went on-line, found the vehicle I wanted, went to Putnam Ford, test drove it with Aaron, and he completed the transaction within a few days.
Aaron is honest and friendly, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for his abundant patience. I needed to keep my NY plates, so an employee drove to NY and obtained a new NY registration for me, along with the 10 day temporary inspection sticker, until I drive to NY and have it inspected within 10 days.
Aaron drove out to the house, and brought me to the dealership to complete the paperwork, and, additionally, he drove to the house to put the NY plates on the vehicle for me. Talk about going the extra mile - it was 100 miles, and all with a smile and humor. Aaron you're amazing.
Everyone I dealt with on the phone, or along the way with the transaction were respectful, and polite -no pushy or snarky salesmen here.
Thank you for making this unexpected challenge so easy to navigate. Wishing you all wonderful holidays.

Lack of Professionalism - BVB
Test drove F150 and advised salesman I was going to look at another F150 at a different dealership. I advised the pricing was better at the second dealership but as I promised I communicated back with Serephin salesman asking if there was any wiggle room. To this date my only response has been crickets.
A yes or no would have been appropriate and professional but they opted to ignoring …. not professional.
Horrible Dealership, Bad Customer Service, Bad Management!! - Kidwave22
They are the worst dealership that i have ever worked with in my entire life. They pressured me intimidated me into signing a contract asking for more money. They gave me the car but won’t give me my Registration and new plates until I pay them the rest of the money that I couldn’t give them. They are sleez bags a scam artist who only want your money. I advise everyone steer away from this dealership. They are the worst and didn’t resolve my issue. They didn’t put me, as the customer first. They also never changed my breaks or gave me my detail.

Horrible Service - Truck Guy
I want to let people know my recent expierence with this dealership. I own a commercial landscaping company and have been a customer of saybrook ford since 2008. One of my work trucks recently purchased from saybrook ford went in for regular PM service. After I paid and walked around back to pick the truck up, i noticed a small dent that wasnt there when i dropped it off. On top of the dent in my new truck, my leather drivers seat was stained with grease. After returning home I opened the hood. The tech forgot to put the fill cap back on after the oil change. Actually dented my radiator when they closed the hood with the fill cap wedged into it. Charged me for a tire rotation and NEVER touched my tires. I spoke with the owner the following day. He was no help, actually denied everything but the dent. I will never spend another dime at this dealership in my life on sales or service. There are better ford dealers in Connecticut.

My mother bought a car from here not that long ago. She... - Brooke_finch1019
My mother bought a car from here not that long ago. She absolutely loves her car, but had an issue with her sunroof not closing. She went into the service department and spoke to some plain jane women with glasses who was extremely rude. She told my mother that it would be $105 to fix the issue. I’ve been a service advisor for 10 years, and so has my other sister. So, she wanted to charge my mother an hours worth of labor to have a technician shove my mother’s moonroof closed essentially. When my mother said she didn’t have that kind of money at the moment she brushed my mom off and sent her away. When my mom was sitting in their waiting area calling me trying to figure out what to do, she over heard this rude woman talking about her to a Technician saying, “She has no money to fix her car, so we’re not doing anything.” The only reason my mother knew she was talking about her is because she heard the rude woman say “her daughter is a service advisor.” For the record, my entire family is in the automotive industry, and we work for multiple different manufacturers. This woman is the exact reason people hate coming to car dealerships. Because of disrespectful, uneducated, unprofessional employees like this woman. How dare you disrespect my mother, how dare you try and take advantage of someone who needs help. I truly hope you see this, and I hope there are some repercussions for your actions. You should be ashamed to have this woman as an employee at your establishment, because if this is how colonial represents itself no one I know will ever come to any of your stores.
Shady service practices with poor customer service - cr693
This place will never get my business again. I had an issue with a previous service from them and it took 3 weeks to get an actual answer about it (including 3 times they said they'd call me back... and didn't). I had complained about a tire replacement (where they had replaced only 1 tire on my fiance's AWD car without me realizing). When we drove across the country, the valvoline guy changing my oil pointed out how the size of one of the back tires seemed drastically different from the others (which can be terrible for the differentials of an AWD). That's when I realized that they had only replaced one tire. We immediately got all our tires changed with a Ford dealership in Minnesota. When I complained to Branford Ford about this, they said they didn't have the measurements in their system and asked me to provide measurements from either the Valvoline/Ford dealership in Minnesota. Unfortunately, neither the dealership nor valvoline recorded the tread depths. Branford Ford then got back to me the following week saying they "found the measurements" and that the difference in tread depth was fine and did not justify a refund for their tire replacement. It seemed a little sketchy how they couldn't find the measurements in their system at first but then all of a sudden had them the next week. These shady business practices, along with management clearly having no desire to keep my satisfaction (or business for that matter) with them, are the reasons that I will never go back. We had spent a lot of money there (annual servicing, etc.) and the way they handled this issue lost our business for good.... all over a single tire.
Lacking customer service - Diane
Problem with rear camera in my Lincoln. Made an appointment for the following week. Arrived and found overload of cars to be serviced. Told to leave my car, get ride home so a diagnostic could be performed, not even a repair. After over 5 hours called to find out status and told the car had not been looked at yet. Asked for a ride to pick up my car. Called after waiting 45 minutes and eventually driver showed up. Asked the service person, Arthur, for my keys. He asked if I wanted to bring my car back the next day. Obviously they had overbooked their appointments. Had I waited there for my car, I would be it would have been checked while I waited. Cannot go without a car for two full days. I had an appointment and this would not have happened if I were male, you can be sure of that. Had been using this service center but no longer will I do so. Arthur has no idea what customer service really means. Denise was extremely helpful and is extremely customer oriented.
A INVOICE - shack
I have never had a problem with ford service until last week I asked for an invoice on tires etc, I was told i would get it soon. After several calls and emails I still never got the invoice.Well today I must have got the right person because it happened right away..thank You
Will Poole salesman was excellent. - AmyExplorer
This is a well overdue review. I bought a used car in October of 2018 and didn't have a lot of time. Will worked with me to make a reasonable deal as quickly as possible. He went above and beyond the call of duty to help me get a test drive in during my working hours. Thank you Will!

These guys are awful. I had them replace my exhaust... - TS
These guys are awful. I had them replace my exhaust manifolds on my F150, and they did a bunch of secondary damage in the process. They denied all of it and quoted me an additional 3000 to fix all the issues they created plus one unrelated problem they tried to repair and failed. They had no interest in negotiating anything until I informed them I was taking the vehicle back. Suddenly, they wanted to wheel and deal and talk salvaged and OEM parts to get the cost down. I took it back to my mechanic, and I had to force him to take 400 bucks, because he felt guilty having to send me the dealer route, to drop in a salvaged compressor motor that they (Ford) broke, which lead to it seizing. And he went item by item to verify not everything needed replacement. Most of it just needed a wrench. I've never seen anything like it. I picked Torrington because it was the closest dealer to me. The best part of the whole episode was the mechanic denying my description of how the damage occurred because he doesn't even "repair it that way." "That way" being the recommended/standard procedure from Ford. There's about a dozen Ford trucks parked behind the firehouses where I work. Three of them have Torrington Ford horror stories. My fault for not asking my bros first. Pick any other dealership. Save yourself.
Terrible service - Brownie979
Takes 2 weeks to get warranty repairs done while I can't use the truck, no loaners available to me (as promised when I purchased my $75k F250 there). Will never buy from them again.
