I spoke with Service 4 days after receiving my RAM, the - BRYANDTE
I spoke with Service 4 days after receiving my RAM, the guy I spoke with (Elliott), treated me like I was an idiot and told me I should not be re-seating my fuses to try and solve the issue with the Infotainment screen (blank screen) that I was having. I told him that I have been working on cars at home (including transmission and engine rebuilds) and that I was very proficient in electronics. I build my own electronic charging equipment...... I know a lot about electronics and autos.
I mentioned that I had watched some youtube videos to attempt to find out if others were having the same issues. Thats how I found out fuses are not seated correctly from the factory under the hood. I found MANY fuses that were loose under the hood of my RAM, however that did not fix the issue.
I tried the following first:
- soft reset to infotainment sytem by holding the power button (did not fix)
- power off truck, back on again (did not fix)
- reset the loose fuses under the hood (did not fix and likely not related to Infotainment)
- disconnected the battery (this fixed my issue for now)
I said I am not your "average" do it yourself mechanic.... I am just wondering if this is common and if there is a recall or something missed on my truck.
He told me "I know you have been talking for 7 minutes" which I thought was VEERY condescending.
I was just trying to help diagnose this issue, and I mentioned that I was not trying to act like i know more than him on the call. He seemed frustrated with me, so I just ended the call.
I just spent $60,000 on a truck, I don't need to be treated like the enemy.
