My 2018 CRV, which I purchased from Honda Napleton's River Oak, needed to have a software update and air conditioning unit replaced at no cost. Denise Bragg in the service department made the entire process easy. She was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly yet professional, and understanding of my concerns. She even was able to pick up and return my CRV, which any senior can understand how great that was! I can't sing her praises enough. I contacted James Adams about trading my 2014 Range Rover for a new 2018 Honda Accord. I also contacted several other Honda dealers in the area. All of the other dealers wanted to play their normal games, try their level best just to get you into their store so that they can try to pressure you into a sale. Not James! I was made a very reasonable offer for my Land Rover( Thousand more than the other dealers were willing to offer) I received a great deal on the new Accord (also several thousand dollars less than the other dealers). Everything was done online and over the phone. When the deal was ironed out I drove to the dealership and was out the door in no time. None of the switch and bait or lowballing that the other dealers wanted to pull. I got a great price for my trade and paid a great price for my Honda. They made some money on the deal and gained a customer for life. The other Honda dealer in the area are just out to steal your trade, buyer beware!

Love love love this service department. The hours are great...I can come in late on a weekday after work or come in Saturdays because they are open most of the day. You are greeted immediately, they keep you informed, and they get you out as soon as possible. Jessica Summers and Tony Beusch were amazing when I came in last Saturday. I have been dealing with this service center for 5 years and they are always fantastic. Other service centers can't touch them ; )

My most recent visit was nothing different. I'm not sold on the total cost to simply buy a new key for my car...but on the other hand seems to be right on par with what most other dealerships would charge for factory parts.

It was the best buying experience I have ever had simply because Kirk explained everything to me throughout the process and worked hard to find the exact make and model of the car I wanted at a great price; he located one of the remaining CRVs left in the state and ensured it didn’t have a ton of miles on it or signs of wear and tear, and was actually “new”. I live about an hour away from Continental, so it’s a bit of a drive, but well worth it. This was our second purchase in a year from Honda of Champaign. We had a pretty good idea of what we were looking for when we contacted them. Jonathan already had the car pulled up front when we arrived and was very knowledgeable about the features and differences in each trim level. We took a test drive, discussed options and made a decision. Pete quickly took care of the financing and we were on our way. We got a great deal on a new vehicle and we never felt like we were under any pressure. From start to finish it was a great experience. We will likely return the next time we decide to purchase a vehicle.

Questionable on a couple of levels - Questionable Practices
Bought a used CRV from here 3 years ago. The car hit all the points we were looking for, low miles, one owner, AWD, leather—but during the test drive, the 'Check Engine' light came on. The Sales Mgr. had the car inspected and came back to tell us it needed a new timing chain. since I knew that a new TC was something we would eventually need anyway, we agreed on a price that included the repair.
It cost a bit more, and we had to wait 3 days to pick the car up, but it was an 'unknown' that we wouldn't need to be worried about.
Fast f'wd to today; took the car to my mechanic to check out another CEL, expecting that an O2 sensor was bad. No, it's the timing chain. The car has less than 30k on it since we bought it. He showed me how the timing chain has stretched to the point that the chain tensioner is fully extended. It is easily 2-3 links longer than the new chain. In 30k mile, and not hard miles, these were easy commute miles. He's never seen that in 40 yrs of working on cars.
Plus, other parts that would have been replaced along with the chain obviously were not.
So either: A) The timing chain was never replaced, B) It was replaced with a used/aftermarket part, or C) who knows. Bottom line, something ain't right. Too many other Honda dealers around to even step foot in a dealer with any hint of shady dealings.

Thumbs Down - Muller Honda of Gurnee - A.R.
How could Muller Honda improve?? For one - they can honor the quotes they send out that customers! On 1/3/19, I received a quote from David Krochmal for a CRV EX-L that I subsequently sought finance for with my bank. Upon securing the financing and contacting Mr. Krochmal to solidify the deal, he informed me he'd made a mistake and he'd sent me the price for the lower EX model. I then spoke with the site Sales Manager, Bob Tarello who admitted it was a clear error on the dealership's part but then still "generously" offered that I finance an ADDITIONAL $2,000 because he likes to "take care of military" as he put it. Incidentally, if you're military and they offer you a rebate incentive, make sure they tell you that you only get that rebate if you finance with them. That was not disclosed up front either.
To Muller Honda of Gurnee: If you're going to support the troops then do it with integrity and stand by the deals you make. That idea is at the very core of any good business. I'll add that when I contacted another Muller location, they'd indicated that this was handled very improperly given "the Muller brand" and what Mr. Muller himself stands for. In any case, you've lost my business and every military member that I personally know for good.

The sale was good and explained. Joe was very helpful all the way to the end of the sale. I did know what I wanted and they had the car that I wanted. The procedure was pleasant and easy to understand. Joe showed me how to operate the car. The manager helped put in the new floor pads. She also explained a couple other features. I would buy a car their again.

I would SERIOUSLY recommend avoiding this dealership for buying a car. I purchased two "certified" used vehicles from them a month or so ago - a CRV and an Odyssey. We're having twins, so safety is important to us, and one of the reasons we wanted certified vehicles. Within two weeks of purchase, I had to replace all four tires of the CRV and I was jumping the car every morning because the battery was leaking and corroded. When I reached out to the general manager via email, I never heard back.
It was pretty obvious that neither car had actually been inspected as part of the certification process, and the dealership just straight up lied about it. How in the world am I now supposed to feel confident that either of these vehicles are safe for my family?
I've had to involve Honda's corporate office, and it's a big headache. Don't be dumb like me. There are a LOT of good Honda dealerships around. Fletcher Jones Honda is being run by folks who apparently have no issue acting unethically for a quick buck. The kind of people who give car dealerships a bad name. Be smarter than me and go to a different dealership.
