You know, every so often you stumble into a place where - onehart
You know, every so often you stumble into a place where the folks behind the counter remind you that work — real work — is about more than punching a clock. That’s exactly what I found at Heritage Subaru of Catonsville.
Let me tell you about Ms. May. Twenty years in the Subaru family will teach you a lot of things: patience, persistence, the ins and outs of vehicles that last longer than most marriages. But what struck me wasn’t just her knowledge. It was her knack for making a customer feel like they’re not just buying—or in my case, leasing—a car. She made me feel like I was joining a family. That kind of approach doesn’t come from a sales manual. It comes from years of doing the job right, and doing it with heart.
Then there’s General Manager Zil. If kindness and generosity had a showroom, he’d be the one greeting you at the door. His experience shows, but more importantly, so does his humanity. He’s the guy who makes you believe the whole process doesn’t have to feel like a wrestling match.
And Paris? No nonsense. No hard sell. No pressure. Just straight talk. In a business where smoke and mirrors can sometimes be the norm, that sort of honesty is downright refreshing.
Together, these three — along with the rest of the team at Heritage Subaru of Catonsville — managed to turn what is normally a painful rite of passage into something I never thought I’d say: a joyful experience. And now, thanks to them, I’m driving off in a 2025 Subaru Impreza, smiling all the way home.
So here’s to the people who make hard work look easy, and to a dealership that proves integrity and good humor still have a place in business. Heritage Subaru of Catonsville — you’ve earned my respect, and my gratitude--not to mention every Subaru sale for as long as they'll let me have a drivers license!
