My Review of Assael BMW:
I am currently looking for another BMW and ran across ASSAEL BMW in Monrovia online and cold shivers ran down my back! NEVER GO TO ASSael because I bought my 2002 X5 brand new and they were a problem from day one. They pressure you, haggle, and act like the old days during the sale. Then after the sale, the problems mounted.
Parts dept does not know their ass from their head. Went 2 times to the parts dept for a CPT8000. Could not get me the correct parts for a in car mounted BMW phone I wanted to purchase - couldn't figure out the wiring parts and adapters. Finally after 2 useless trips, I drove to Crevier BMW and they had everything to me in less than 10 minutes! BTW: Crevier BMW hosted a "Westfest X5" gathering in 2003 inviting all BMW X5 owners to a free clinic & BBQ.
Another ASSael BMW mistake: I left the vehicle for service because of a pair of scratches on the top of the roof apparently caused during transport. Over the weekend their service bay was broken into by thieves and they took my CPT8000 phone, charger, and business materials. Never did they call me to inform me, but after I found, the service manager (an arrogant and old stubborn employee) told me to go to the Monrovia Police Dept to file the report. After filing the report, the police dept produced the phone but no charger and none of my business materials. ASSael BMW, what a moron!
Then the worst happened about a year later, the vehicle would stall, quit, and the lights all flashed when the outside temperatures went over 100 degrees and making a left turn from a stop. Very dangerous for a vehicle and occupants making a left across an intersection while in motion and stopping. Vehicle restarted after a minute or two and being embarrassed while stuck in the turn blocking cars from passing. Went to their service dept (big mistake) 2 times and they said they could not reproduce the error and therefore gave it back to me unrepaired. Both times after I had it back, it would stall again. I made a report to the NHTSA and there is a file they have online so you check about this issue. So I finally got fed up and wrote to BMW NA and they set me up with the service director at New Century BMW and arranged a loaner while they had it for about 2 weeks. The first time in entire BMW experience where I felt like an important customer (are you listening ASSael?). They found the problem (wiring fault & engine ECU programming) and had a master tech fix the issue. Has never been a problem since! ASSael BMW, how stupid do you feel not taking care of a customer who bought from you and will never ever step into your dealership? I have told so many people to go elsewhere to buy their BMW. I prefer New Century BMW for their knowledge and experience in taking care of customers.
