My Review of Brookline VW:
Hands down the worst dealership I've ever dealt with. The service group is the reason why. Our 2002 VW Jetta was in for service on several occasions for various reasons and almost each time, the service group either didn't work on the car or screwed something up royally!!

A. Stop Engine Warning came on literally 4 blocks from dealership. My wife called me at work and I told her to stop by the dealership because if the "Turn off Engine" light is on, she shouldn't drive the car. She stopped in to ask the service guys and some a-hole gaver her attitude and told her that it obviously wasn't a problem given that she drove it in and told her that she wasn't going to "dump" the car on them.
I called service to arrange for an appt to check out the "Turn Off Engine" light and drop the car off. They said it would be at least 2 days, but I couldn't get a loaner because the car was driveable. I had to rent a car from these schmucks. They called me 2 days later and said it was fixed. I asked what the problem was and the guy told me that didn't work on it, so he didn't know. (jerk off) I left work early to get to service before closing and when I arrived, I noticed my car was parked exactly where I left it. (if you know the dealership lot, you know there is no way the happened to get the car back in the same spot and parked in the same manner 2 days later) I went in, dropped off the rental keys and went out to confirm what I suspected. No one had even looked at my friggin car! Seats and mirrors were still in the same position. I started it up and what do you know...The "Turn Off Engine" warning light was on.

I stormed back in and gave them the keys back, told them to fix it and demanded a loaner this time. They gave me attitude and acted like I was a thorn in their side. (never seen so many grown men hum and haw in my friggin life)

Another incident involved a disconnected fuel line after being in the shop for a failed cat convert. As my wife and I parked in a garage downtown the evening after picking the car up, we noticed what we thought was water under the rear of the car. Turns out it was gas!!! Some fool didn't bother to reconnect the fuel line properly (a child could do it!) After waiting for the gas to evaporate, I got under it as best I could and confirmed and snapped it back into place.

Dropping the car off at lease end proved to be another wonderful experience. They didn't want to take the car back even after I scheduled the drop off. The guy responsible for doing it whined and pissed and moaned at me because they didn't have room for my car. What??? Are you kidding me???? A-holes.

I placed at least 5 calls to the management re problems during the life of our lease and not once did I ever get a return call.

Guess what Jerk Offs! We bought 2 Audis from another dealership and we make sure to mention the crap service, attitude and lies that Brookline doles out once the sale is done.

My Review of Brookline VW:
I would rank my experience with the Service Dept at Brookline VW as POOR.

Here are some of my experiences with the Service dept. for my VW GTI (purchased new at this dealership).

1) dropped off my car in for an oil change. I got a call back, telling me that my brakes were SHOT, and that I better change them quickly. How much, I asked? around $400 parts & labor. I declined the service, thinking that I would do the job myself. Well, the following weekend, I go buy some brake pads (around $50), and proceed to work on the car. To my absolute dismay, I inspected the pads to find that they still had PLENTY of life still in them. I continued to drive the car for 1 and 1/2 years, then sold my car, never having to replace the brakes.

2) dropped off my car to replace a fault electronic distribution module (they charged be about $1000!). When I picked up the car, it had an additional THIRTY miles on it, and the driver side mirror housing was broken.

PS. I have a good friend with an AUDI who has had WORSE experiences...dropping off the car on several occasions, and not getting it back for WEEKS.

My Review of Brookline VW:
I have had repeat terrible service experiences with Brookline Audi/VW. In the last nightmare, they lied and told me that they spoke with my aftermarket warranty company and that none of the needed repairs were covered. After some yelling, they admitted that they had never called the warranty provider. Then they refused to release my car, even though no work had been done, becuase it was 'unsafe' to drive, even though I had driven it to them. They continue to give me the runaround and have kept the car for almost two weeks now without a solid explanation. They claimed some repairs were covered, then claimed they were not covered, then claimed they were covered but did not have the part (lie). VWOA is now involved. This is an embarrassment. The guys who work this service department are total scam artists, and it's shamefully obvious.
