My Review of Landmark Dodge Inc:
I tell everyone I can to stay away from this place! My wife and I recently purchased a minivan from them. In the 6 weeks that we have owned it, we have taken it back 5 times to the shop for various problems! First, the belt squeaked. They sprayed it with compressed air, saying that the moisture in the air caused it to squeal. Next day, same problem, they adjusted it...few days later, same problem....they FINALLY agreed to replace the belt, although they requested payment. I had to talk with the Used Car Manager and convince him to pay for it. Next came squealing brakes...turns out there's only 30% brake pad on the car...it only had 28K on it and we bought the PREVIOUS YEAR'S MODEL! When questioned as to why they sold it with such a low amount of brake pad left, the Used Car Manager responded that 10% will pass inspection - what a load of crap! Seems like they're truly looking to take care of their customers, aren't they?!?! When I informed him that he ought to be paying for this, he gave me some crap about an unanticipated expense on both of our parts. After more arguing, he agreed to pay labor ($100) and for me to pay for parts ($40)...not quite fair in my opinion, but I was so tired of arguing that I agreed. Next came a trip out of town. I have to send the wife and kids back early b/c the kids are sick. The car doesn't start! (this is the 5th week we've had the car, mind you). We jump it, and it doesn't re-start once we get back into town. They keep it for more than 48 hours running some kind of diagnostic bull on it. I question the alternator, and they say it might be a wiring thing (which they immediately inform me won't be covered under my warranty! - how convenient for them!). Finally, after I keep calling them to see how it's progressing, they say the battery has a bad cell. HELLO!? Who doesn't check that first thing when a car doesn't start? It took you 48 hours to figure that out? Why is a car with 29K not starting? They agree to pay for it (but only b/c the factory warranty cover it) and my extended warranty cover the rental car. I am now in the process of trying to rescind the purchase of this car, as we were not given the title at the time of the purchase. Under Missouri law, the buyer must be given the title or the transaction cannot be considered completely valid. I want this hunk of crap off my hands, and this dealership investigated for poor salesmanship and poor service. In a backward way, I am glad to see that I'm not the only one who has had a hard time there! I only gain comfort knowing that people throughout my community will know of this dealership's service record. Maybe through this posting and through a drop in sales, they will become more reputable. Here's hoping!
