My Review of Potamkin Honda:
If you're shopping around, DONT bother wasting your time with Potamkin Manhattan. Once their managers find out you will not go forward with the deal, they'll flip their face and not treat you as a person. If you're female and a minority, good luck. I feel I have been discriminated against. I understand that all salesperson will try to get you to put a deposit in any ways, but be sure that your money is refundable. A few hours after the Purchase Order was signed, I decided to let the deal fall through. I went back to request my deposit back, however, the sales manager went ballistic and screamed at me in public. He said I'm not getting a penny of it back and that I wasted his time. He expects people going in a few minutes and purchase a car from them? As a customer, I believe I have options. One more thing to bear in mind, those "President Awards" issued by Honda America are meaningless and don't be fooled by them. It is indeed very disappointing to find out what kind of low standard to qualify for a "President Award". Honda America do not do anything but suggested BBB. I would never in my lifetime go back, or recommend friends/family to go there. I just want to make shoppers out there aware of my horrendous experience.

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
I have negotiated yesterday and today August 18,2009 an all inclusive price for a new car.They had me initial the final price and sign all kind of papers.We shook hands .
When it came to make the payment another manager came and said that they cannot honour that price.I asked them for the paper they had me sign where all the details were down and which they had 5 minutes ago.They said they cannot find it anymore.What a Humiliating experience.

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
When my wife & I walked in we were welcomed & instantly felt comfortable. We had been to other dealerships and felt pressured to buy a car on the spot. This was not the case at Potamkin Honda. Our salesman Albert Salcedo showed us around without any pressure to make a purchase. He worked with our wants & needs on the type of car we wanted to purchase. He gave us the time and space needed for us to make a decision. In the end we got a good car at a great price. The Honda Civic EX-L.

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
After a terrible experience at a Honda dealership in Brooklyn I was initially dreading going in to a car dealership again. Technically I was a salesman's dream--I HAD to buy a car for my new job--with a hefty car allowance. The customer service that I received at the first dealership was terrible. After taking 2 subway's to get to there for my 10AM appointment I was asked to "hang around the dealership" for an hour while the dealer helped another couple. This was confusing to me in a sea of suits where salesman grossly outnumbered customers. I left frustrated & angry and was advised to come back another time. The condescending tone of the salesman was offensive.

My experience at Potamkin was COMPLETELY different. Albert Salcedo was friendly & respectful. He answered all my questions in detail. He was never aggressive with his "sales pitch". I highly recommend this dealership if you are in the market for a car. Julio Batista was also extremely professional & helpful with the financial part of the deal. He also made the process intelligible--even for an amateur (female-first time car buyer).

I love my new CRV!!!

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
So I found the 2007 civic si i wanted online for the price i wanted it was a certified honda vehicle. I contact the dealer get everthing setup to make the flight from VA to NY. I head out there, i get there and everything was kinda rush rush rush, I wasnt too concerned seeing I had done my research and the Honda Pre Owned Certification had a very promising checklist and vigourous shakedown of the used car. I had visited my local dealers and walk me through exaclty why certified was certified. I arrive in NY my salesman Albert gave me horrible directions of what city transit to use etc. remember im from out of state. I get there i see the car it is really dark inside the parking garage shop where the vehicle was .... however I had the trusty old certification to fall back on...yeah right so I thought. It is raining so I cant look at in in a well lit area. It actually rained from NY to about 20 mins from my home which is 7 hours away. I get everything settled up at the dealer, I drive home all is well then I sit and start reading the paperwork they gave me and realize... Hey they didnt give me floormats.. a valet key...or a full tank of gas, oh well i thought to myself ill call them tommorow. Well morning comes i want to get my new car shiny so i go to the driveway wash it up and...... after running a shammy over it to dry I realized there is dent knicks ding scratches gouges scratches everywhere! And the rear bumper looks like someone has played bumper cars with liscence plate bolts aboout 20 times. So I come inside i look at honda.com and it says all painted surfaces must be free from any defects, so I call Albert he says let me talk to the manager we will see whats up... I wait and call back about 6 hours later he says here talk to the manager, the manager informs me sorry you bought it its not our problem ill send you floormats if you dont call honda... what? This is on the certification list i tell him he said oh well im offering this one time only I said no this is all on the list he says its the city what do you expect, I said regardless where its sold it must meet the same criteria as all other dealerships nationwide.... So I go to my local Honda dealer they send me to their body shop and the estimate is over $2500 ! So i call Albert back, he ignores my calls and messages for days till I remember I have his cell # so I call him he answers and tells me look you bought the car before you noticed it, I cannot do anything for you... So then I call Honda North America they open a case file, and their saying is its a private dealership that just uses Hondas name nothing they can do either.... The car has had the transmission rebuilt, two new stereos, emergency flasher switch, and been in the shop 4 times for the ac. All this in 1.5 months. Potamkin Honda knows the car should not have been certified in its current condition and refuses to fix it. The only thing positive about the dealer was....nothing horrible customer service, sales represenitive, and managers, even the secratary was extremely rude when i called the dealer after I had bought the car,they would not deal with the issue they had created themselves.

quick, efficient, and patient. Explained options and contract clearly. allowed me to understand how the finance was derived. Very professional and fair. surprised at how fast the deal was made and how he worked with my choice of vehicle. He is very thorough and has great communication skills.

The salesman was terrific...always available...Albert even gave me his cell number. He met me and showed me the actual car I was buying,introduced me to the service department as well.He had the car ready for me when I got there to pick it up...quick and easy. The price was good (I checked with a Honda dealer I used in the past and they couldn't beat the price). The showroom was also very nice. I would send anyone to Potamkin Honda in a minute.

I would recommend this dealer for any kind of buyer. (either first time buyer or old buyer). I had a very smooth and trouble free experience with the purchase of my Odyssey 2009. The person you have to meet is Alex Martinez. There is no pressure sales and no hidden costs.

I came into the dealership having done my homework beforehand. I was in the market for a lease on a new Accord EXL. Salesman Alex Martinez and I worked out a very fair deal in very little time, without any drawn out negotiation. Alex turned me over to finance manager Erik Sherriff, who quickly reviewed my needs and got the paperwork out of the way without any pressure or upselling. My experience was positive, and I will recommend Potamkin Honda and these two employees to friends in the market for cars.

MY CAR WAS REPAIRED AFTER AN ACCIDENT. ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT REPAIRED AT THE DEALERSHIP, MY SEVICE REP, BIB GARCIA WAS WONDERFUL AT FOLLOWING UP THE STATUS OF THE CAR. HE COMPLETLY CHECKED OUT THE CAR WHEN IT CAME BACK FROM THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP. THE WORK DONE ON THE CAR WAS VERY GOOD.
