My Review of Potamkin Honda:
This is a very professional dealership and it was a pleaseue doing business with them. I knew what I wanted and left a few hours later with a showroom model at a price which was competitive and fair. I don't have a lot of time to shop around and wanted to buy in Manhatan since I live there. Have had the car (Odyssey) a couple weeks now and love it. Alex was my salesman and I feel he is an honest and fai man. Same with Seth, the finance manager. I highly recommend.

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
Mr. Yep was professional, listened to me and offered suggestions without pressure. Mr. Sherriff was professional, gave financing coverage in detail and allowed me to make decisions without pressure. The meeting was unhurried and gave me as much time as I needed. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions without hesitation.

Being a first time car buyer and hearing about different experiencing from previous buyers, it was a great experience, and I would not hesitate recommending Potamkin Honda to my friends and colleagues.

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
***Do Not Waste Your Time On Internet Quotes*****

As a graduation present I was purchasing a 2008 Civic for my daughter. I requested an Internet Quote from Potamkin Honda NYC since it is not to far from my home. When I saw my daughter I told her that as a graduation present I was going to give her the Civic. I just wanted to know what she wanted in the car. She told me Automatic, leather seats, moon roof and spoiler. After looking up all the trims on the Civic the EX-L had everything she wanted as standard equipment. Where as the others had Manuel transmission and leather seats, spoiler and moon roof were options. After about 20 minutes, my daughter asked if the dealership I was requesting a quote from was Potamkin Honda? I naturally replied yes. She then informed me that her BEST FRIEND requested a quote from this dealership. She dealt with Mr. Stephen Smith, Internet Sales Manager, who was rude and obnoxious to her. She requested a quote from him and he would send back the MSRP price. Again she sent an email asking for the lowest price quote and again he sent her the MSRP price. She then sent an email from Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book with MSRP price to Mr. Smith. The MSRP price from Edmunds and Kelly were exactly the same price as Mr. Smith kept giving her friend. This is when Mr. Smith’s attitude changed completely. He became rude and obnoxious to her friend. Actually saying in an email “DO NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS. What car salesman would be so UNPROFESSIONAL?

Her friend told everyone she knew about her experience with Potamkin Honda and how mistreated Mr. Smith was to her. I know of numerous parents buying their children cars for graduation. If it is a Honda believe me Potamkin Honda will not get their business. Mr. Smith has lost money not only for himself but for the dealership. It now has an extremely BAD REPUTATION due to Mr. Smith. I therefore, have to respect my daughter’s wishes and not deal with this dealership.

By the way, my daughter’s friend showed me the emails that were sent to her from Mr. Smith. She was absolutely right he is rude and obnoxious. He is definitely in the wrong occupation.

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
Everyone was very helpful and nice - and not at all shady. We visited several other dealerships in the area (not all Honda) and were very disgusted with humanity after each experience. Potamkin was very professional. Alexis, our sales rep, was very knowledgeable about the cars and accommodating in meeting with us when we came in unannounced. Seth, the financial rep, offered some very sound advice. We never felt like anyone was trying to trick us. Not the case for most places we visited. Potamkin treated us appropriately for a couple about to spend over 20,000$. We would recommend visiting this dealership to anyone interested in buying a Honda in the NYC area.

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
Went in for a used 2007 accord that they had on the web site. I dont remember the sales person's name but he was very pushy. He wasted alot of time going through the usual sales pitch. At first he made it seem like we agreed on a price and then went on about an hour more to almost purchasing the car. After a long conversation i gave him the credit card not for deposit but to test drive the car. He said its not possible to test drive the car without giving them a credit card. Then after speaking to his superior he came back with totally different (higher) price and didn't even mention the change to me and asked me to sign it. Good thing i noticed the price before i signed it. I asked the why the price has changed and he said i should do more research and insulted me. At that point, i was ready to pack up and leave and then he was trying to give me some more of the usual sales pitch. Eventually i got tired of dealing with him and left. Overall it was very stressing experience. I wouldn't recommend this dealer for anything.

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
All aspects of the sales process was handled in a very professional "no hassel" manner. Beginning with the Salesman, George, show me different vehicles and accompany me on a test drive to Jake the Sales Manager who was fair and honest from the moment we met to (finally) Mr. Eric Sherriff, and Seth, who took the time to fully explain the different financing options available and various additional levels of warranty coverage and protection.

At no time did I feel pressured to make a purchase, and it was "refreshing" to work with a group of professionals within an industry not usually known for professionalism!

I would highly recommend this dealership to others looking to purchase a quality automobile from a very qualified staff.

My Review of Potamkin Honda:
In June 2006, I went in with my parents to buy my very first car. We'd done a lot of research, had gone in knowing what Potamkin had in stock, and even looked up precise car, model, trim, and color. I knew roughly the price that the car I wanted (06 Civic Ex w/ Navi) was selling for in our area based on stats online. While we had some issues with the sales person (nagging, unwillingness to listen, unwilling to negotiate), we all figured he was just trying to push us to make a higher sale. We finally got him down to the price we wanted (still above average sale price in our area but not by too much). We had told our salesman, Marcos, that we really wanted a navigation system because while I know New York inside and out, I would be shipping the car to Hawaii within 30 days because that's where my new job would be. Hawaii new car prices are notoriously high, or so I thought, and I really wanted to have the car first in my own city so I could get used to it. Plus, having my parents with my to buy the car instead of doing it on my own out of state made me feel much more comfortable about such a large purchase. If he''d forgotten that the car would be used entirely in Hawaii, he would have been reminded when our final paperwork process was delayed by over an hour because I needed both New York insurance cards to register in New York but that I only had Hawaii. Then the cards came back wrong because they all had my new address, etc etc. Basically, by the end of the day, we had so many problems with paperwork and so many people were helping me fix the discrepancies that the whole dealership knew that my car was going to Hawaii. Now here's the kicker - I had done all of my research but I never even considered the possibility that the navigation system wouldn't work in Hawaii. It works in Canada in Mexico - how can it not work on American states? The fine print as it is now on the website is that some satellite related features may not work in Hawaii and Alaska to include but not limited to daylight savings time and automatic clock adjustment. There isn't however, a clear indication that the nav system in its entirety doesn't work in Hawaii. I didn't know about all this, however, until after I'd shipped the car and realized I should have printed directions from the car shipping center to my house in Hawaii because my nav system wasn't working. I called Honda dealers in Hawaii thinking I just needed another disc. I've also called Honda Corporation. Pretty much everyone I've talked to has said that the NY dealer should have informed me immediately of the limitations of the system, but especially since they knew I would be using the car exclusively in Hawaii. I've tried contacting Potamkin multiple times - via email and phone - and I've never ever gotten a response from them. I love my car but I paid over 2000 for a system that's completely useless and I can't even recoup that cost if I try to sell it in Hawaii. Potamkin has seriously tarnished my overall satisfaction with Honda vehicles because of their neglect. And their failure to follow-up with my case has shown me once again how little they really care about customer satisfaction.

As far as we knew the car was to be purchased and used in New York. No one ever informed us of taking the car to Hawaii and as a matter of fact the car was registered in New York State.
