My Review of Rider Auto:
I've never seen a rating for this dealer anywhere, so I'll add a few comments for anyone interested. I brought my '05 Elantra in for service due to a repetitive "propeller-like" noise presumably originating in the wheel base that may have been a cracked bearing (my father's suggestion). This was my first visit to a service department for anything potentially serious. The service department advised me that it was a simple case of "balded tires, primarily on the rear tires but uneven wear was clear on the front tires." The service rep suggested four new tires as a solution. Since I hadn't closely inspected the tires myself for a while, I went in personally and the diagnosis seemed very reasonable (based upon a couple checks, such as comparing wear to the wear bumps in the tire ridges, feeling uneven patches by hand). Being a newcomer to car service, I went in to speak with the rep at the desk about tire options, what may have caused treadwear, probability of other problems causing the noise, the potential for an alignment problem and possibly throwing in a check w/o service for free, etc. The rep was very clear with his answers and did not seem to be suggesting any more service than was reasonable at the time. I was given the option between two sets of tires, and upon later comparison of prices at tirerack.com, the prices seemed to fall in the average range for their quality. The tires were pulled in from a store house and installed very quickly and without incident, and the car now runs quite well. Overall, a pretty positive service experience.
