My Review of South Shore Volvo:
Their team of sales reps and business manager could not give me a set price on anything. Each and every single person I spoke with gave me a different price for the same car and the same "extended warrenty".
Example: Was told extended warrenty was $1,500 by sales rep, and then Business manager would say it was $1,100.
I didnt care how much it cost, i just wanted a set price, so i knew was i was purchasing. After getting 5 different numbers for the price of the warrenty, I told them i didnt want it because they were unable to give me a set number of what it cost. Business manager didnt like that i wasnt going to get it and started to get a bit hostile towards me.
We then agreed to a set price for the car, my trade in, and other fees. That was on a Sunday. Called monday to get exact amount that i was going to be financing and was told the bottom line was told $xx,xxx. They seemed pretty annoyed that i wanted to finance the car through my own bank and not through them. I showed up two days later to sign the paper and get the car, and to my surprise the price of the car was now $xx,xxx plus an additional $1,400. The person i was signing the paper with (Monica) was the same person I had talked to two day prior. She couldnt give me an answer as to why the car was now $1,400 more expensive. She went into "the back room" to talk to another business manager to try and figure the issue out. Overhead her talking to the other business manager (i was only about 10 feet away and could hear them pretty easily, good negotiation tactic guys...) who was starting to get pretty heated because i was confronting them on the price increase. he keep saying well thats what it is, that what it is. Monica came back and said that was the price of the car and that was it. i asked her what had changed since i talk directly to her two day ago when she gave me a lower number, she didnt say anything. I got up and walked out.
Money wasnt an issue. I just wanted set numbers on everything, and they couldnt do that. In the end it seemed, that because i didnt want the extended warrenty and wasnt going to finance the car through them they didnt want my business. Which is fine, just convey that to me and we wont have a problem. Dont jack up the price right before i sign the papers to try and pressure me into signing a deal i dont understand.
