My Review Of Audi Volkswagen of Newton :
My first car was a Silver 2002 Volkswagen Golf, and I adored it. While friends of mine would buy or lease a new car every few years, I paid off my car & always said that I would drive it until it fell apart around me. A little over a week ago, after eleven years and over 200,000miles, the transmission finally blew, and I realized it was time to face the prospect of buying another vehicle.
Since my fiancé let me borrow his car after mine died, I thought I had some time to shop around & consider my options… until the brakes on his car gave out only one day later.
We own our own business & were scheduled to attend an event this past weekend. With both cars down for the count, I had a day & a half to find a new vehicle.
Megen Fitzpatrick at Audi Volkswagen of Newton, NJ has always given me sterling service with my Golf. I called her the next morning and explained my predicament. She personally recommended that I work with Jeff Bassett, an Audi Brand Specialist in Newton. Jeff & I went over the features I was looking for, my operating budget, and my limited time frame. It was Thursday, October 31st, & I needed a car by the following evening if my fiancé & I were going to make it to our event.
It was 6:30pm by the time I narrowed my choices down to five cars in the pre-owned section of their inventory. I emailed Jeff the VIN numbers, and he immediately went to work, touching base via phone, txt & email. As evening progressed, I kept an eye on the clock, sure that at any moment, Jeff would announce that he was heading home & suggest that we continue the process the next day.
After a break to take his children Trick or Treating, Jeff returned to the office & continued to work diligently on my case, making sure that everything was in order. He processed my credit app, worked with Nicolette in finance to negotiate a lower price on my first choice—a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta-- and took my credit card deposit to hold the vehicle. It wasn’t until he had everything in order that we finally said goodnight after 9:00pm.
The next day, Jeff took me for a test drive, and I fell in love with my new car. We completed the paperwork, and 24 hours after I had first emailed him the link to the car, I was driving it off the lot.
Jeff turned what could have been a very harrowing & disappointing experience into an unexpected delight. My new car is more than I had dared to hope for, and the turnaround time from our first phone call until I left the lot was nothing short of remarkable.
Even more impressive than his business acumen, was Jeff's warmth, intelligence & humour. He brought a personal touch to the business, listening with engaged interest and responding with wit & wisdom. He made me feel like a person rather than a walking commission. I also appreciated the way that he followed up with me the following day to make sure everything was going well with my new car.
It is so rare these days to see the level of integrity & dedication that Jeff Bassett puts into his work. Customer service this excellent deserves to be recognized & praised.
