My wife brought our recently purchased CPO Elantra into parts/service because it only came with 1 key/remote. Prior I was told it would take 15-20 mins to set up the alarm and that no appointment was necessary. When I asked best time to come in I was told bybparts mgr early morning was the worst so any other time is preferable.
As soon as she arrived she was courteously greeted but immediately told it takes 45 mins or longer to get the remote programming done. The minor rub and direction of my advice is this was the 3rd time in 3 events that sales to parts, parts to service can't get on the same page. Besides it coming across unprofessionally, the unnecessary aggrevation of doubling wait time, or prior an unnecessary visit leads to diminishing opinion of the dealership on whole. Small things accumulate and compound into larger problems. All could have easily been avoided if 1 person in one department confirms or asks another person in another department prior to speaking on their behalf. The irony is they're not even 15 feet apart..m
