My Review Of Boch New To You:
This place is what people think of when they think 'used cars dealership'. It's unfortunate, because they do have a lot of good incentives like the Powertrain, the extended warranties and the free roadside assistance.
I live in Boston and saw a car online that I had wanted. I completed the online finance application. When they called me back, I was very clear that I didn't have much time to drive all the way there and not get a car, so I wanted to make sure the financing was all set. I was told it was, but when I got there, I learned that I had to go through a separate process.
They couldn't give me a quote that was within my budget, so I was about to walk, but then the salesman said to put an additional $1000 down and they could get it below $300/mo. I agreed. When the process completed, not only was it not under $300, but it was more than the original quote! I liked the car, so I reluctantly agreed to buy it. That was when the problems went from bad to worst.
The process of transferring my plate and doing the inspection wasn't made clear to me. They allowed me to drive off the lot without an inspection sticker, which I got a ticket for that evening.
I was supposed to go back the next day to pick up the registration, so I called the supervisor to make sure that they could do the inspection right away. I didn't want anymore miscommunications and I had to work. He said yes.
When I got there, I was told by the service department (in a very rude way) that it would take 45 minutes. I tried to explain to them that I didn't have 45 minutes, and that I would have just had the registration faxed to me had I known it would take that long, but didn't want to listen. They kept interrupting me, lecturing me about the law that doesn't allow them to make appointments, and telling me I'm no exception.
I can understand that miscommunication between departments can often occur in a large business, but they didn't have to be so rude about it. The least they could have done was just listen, so they could figure out what went wrong in order to fix it or to make sure it doesn't happen again. That's basic customer service skills.
I'm very happy with my car, and I'm very glad that I got the extended warranty for a peace of mind, but then again...would I really want to use my warranty and have to deal with those people....?
