I give these down to earth professionals a 5 star rating because I have never been treated so kind and honest buying a vehicle as I was by Ron Zipprich and all the employees at Marty Cancila in Jerseyville. I cant find one thing negative to say, I encourage anyone in market for a vehicle to give them a try. The best comparison I can give between them and some of the other places I have dealt with in the past is like comparing a homestyle grilled hamburger and bratwurst with coleslaw, potato salad , and baked beans to a TV dinner! Wow... Until I encountered this dealership, I always thought company mottos were simply meaningless and decorative artificial quotes that were used to catch the average consumer's attention. Let me tell you, the team at Dave Sinclair truly live by their motto: "If it's not right, we'll make it right!"
I initially had a few minor issues and concerns in regards to the truck that I was interested in. They were extremely patient with me and answered all of my questions and reassured me with their extensive knowledge of their product. Ms/Mrs Schroeder (the manager) was extremely helpful and would even call my number personally to answer any questions I might have had and to schedule an appointment to test drive the truck I was interested in. Nowadays, managers only seem to come out whenever the costumer is close to buying a vehicle and there is an issue, which is sad. This was not the case at Dave Sinclair. The manager went above and beyond in order to gain my trust and my business, from the beginning I just felt very comfortable and felt like I could trust her all the way. This for me, is VERY important.
I also felt very comfortable dealing with the salesman assigned to me, Kevin, who is awesome and instantly built some rapport with me (his son is also in the Army and went to Basic Combat Training where I am currently stationed at). It is small details like these that gain my business right away, they assigned someone they knew wouldn't screw me over, in the Army we are all pretty much brothers and sisters, screwing over a fellow battle buddy of his son's would basically be like screwing over his son's brother or best friend, at least that's how I would feel if anyone in my family tried to screw over another soldier.
Anyway, (getting off topic here) Kevin gave me the best deal from the get go. How do I know this? Well, I always shop around before buying a vehicle, no other dealership came even close to the deal Kevin offered me. Except for one dealership, HOWEVER, their truck was a 2WD and NOT a 4x4! I was skeptical at first, so I looked up the VIN and the truck was clean and clear. No damage, no scratches, nothing... This was one of those times where the saying "this is too good to be true" was actually false. The deal was good, and there was no catch, no hidden fees, just good customer service and a deep sense of caring for their customers. EVEN the general manager came out to shake my hand and answer any questions I had, I've never experienced that before at any other dealership.
In conclusion, I am extremely glad I drove two hours in order to visit this dealership. I am stationed in Fort Leonard Wood and the dealerships around the base are sketchy. These guys took care of me and even gave me a military discount along with a military cash rebate, without me even asking! Dave Sinclair is awesome (how many times have I used the word "awesome" already?) and I will definitely be coming back again whenever I need to purchase another vehicle. So if you want the best trade in offer you can get (with no low ball offers like some other dealerships) the best deals on vehicles and the best customer service experience, make sure you come to this dealership first! Trust me, it will also be your last stop! =]
Make sure you request Kevin, he will take care of you! When dealing with the finance guy, remember to be clear about what you want and don't want with the purchase of your vehicle. Like in any other dealership, ALWAYS check your numbers and make sure everything is good to go in order to avoid any hiccups along the way! If you have any issues (which I highly doubt you will at this dealership) make sure you contact Ms/Mrs Schroeder! She is on YOUR side and will gladly help you out if any issues or concerns arise.

Best deal in the country on a New Challenger Hellcat!! - Jimbo
When I saw Barreth selling a new Hellcat online below MSRP I thought it was an error or bait and switch. Most dealers are $5k-$10k over sticker with a few selling at MSRP. I was promptly contacted by Zack Young after submitting an online inquiry. Zack assured me the online price was accurate and texted me multiple pics of several Challanger Hellcats they had available. I ended up liking another Hellcat they had in stock and put a deposit down. The next day I flew from South Dakota to St Louis. Zack coordinated for a driver to pick me up from the airport and drive me an hour to the dealership. The Hellcat was ready for me to drive away in. The price was exactly what we discussed and they gave me a great finance rate. The 12 hour drive back to South Dakota in the Hellcat was the best trip ever!!

I contacted Oliver C Joseph and asked to speak with the Sales Manager. I spoke with Harley first and offered him the opportunity to beat or at least meet a deal I had received from another dealer for a new car I wanted to purchase. I told him I would like to keep my business local and if they could at least meet the deal I would buy from them. I shared the specifics I was looking for and the details of the other offer I had on the table. He said he would call me back, 4 hours later I had to call back. He was receiving a new load of vehicles in and they took a message. Another Sales manager returned my call and I wish I would have wrote his name down, but quite frankly I was so caught off guard by the whole conversation that I simply forgot. I repeated my earlier conversation that I had with Harley and mentioned I would like to extend an offer for them to beat or meet my currant deal. Before I could even give him the specifics or the deal I was interrupted and received a 15 minute lecture about "HOW NO ONE IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS COULD BEAT HIS PRICES"! Seriously for 15 min I heard this over and over! Finally he took my specifics and as soon as I shared my deal he said "I bet I know who offered you that deal" I said I wouldn't deny or confirm that information. He then proceeded to tell me that I could just go buy that new car from them! I replied with no problem and that is exactly what I did and I got the exact deal I wanted! I don't mind having to drive 20 minutes, but its unfortunate that the local dealer has such an arrogant self-righteous person representing their company. I guess I can look at this in a positive way and realize I was saved from doing business with the likes of Oliver C Joseph! I will never do business at this establishment EVER!
great experience - truck fan and the misses
I purchased a new Dodge Ram from West Brothers Chrysler on Memorial Day. It was a great buying experience. I received a great deal on the new truck and a great deal on my trade in. I have to take the truck back to have some things switched over from my old truck. Due to the holiday the mechanics were off. I'm 64 years old and without a doubt this is one of the best experience I have had. There was no high pressure and worked very hard to make sure we were happy.
Lost My Trust and Future Used Car Business - A_Bell
I am extremely disappointed with my experience here and won't be going back. Here is my experience as unbiased as I can tell it:
- I entered lot to see a used vehicle that had been on their lot for 3 weeks. Discussing the vehicle with the salesman, I was told the vehicle had undergone their standard used vehicle inspection and oil change.
- I test drove vehicle and noted some shimmy in brakes, so I asked for the brakes to be inspected.
- I left the lot to visit another dealership, then later received a call that the vehicle had not had the standard inspection and oil change as the salesman had said. They offered to replace the warped rear rotors causing the shimmy and pads, which was nice.
- When I returned to the dealership, I entered the vehicle to find that the salesman or another employee had smoked in the vehicle between my test drives. It had been a non-smoking car before that point which was important to me.
- With the brakes, inspection, and oil change resolved, I did a final check over the vehicle. When looking closely, I found some fluid on the left side of the bottom of the engine. The salesman didn't know what it was, so we both discussed some possible causes. He thought it might be residual fluid from the AC pump, which had been replaced. I thought it might be coming from near the water pump. I told them to check out the leak before I signed. They returned saying, "We did not identify a new leak".
- I signed the papers understanding it was an "As-Is" purchase, assuming responsibility for the issues of the car but trusting their word that the fluid was a non-issue.
- Within a week find the leak was still occurring (I parked on gravel the first 6 days so couldn't detect the leak). I took it to a Honda Dealership in another state where I had just relocated, and they immediately identified it as an oil leak through the front crank seal.
- I had the dealership repair the issue, and then I called back Wrights to inquire about the issue. They claimed I only asked them to look around the water pump (less than 10 inches from the crank seal, fluid would have been very visible from under the car), would not respond to my inquiry into whether they kept a written report of their used car report, and did not make any effort to rectify the situation, meet me in the middle, or work to find a compromise.
I can't tell whether this was an issue of lack of integrity or technical competence, but either way they've lost me as a customer.
Horrific Service Department - Sadwvd
I had an absolute horrible experience with their service department. After giving them an extensive explanation on what was wrong with my car (stuttering on the highway) they somehow decided to fix an issue with a ball joint that was apparently locking up my drive train during turns, an issue I had never noticed and never told them about. Since they said the ball joint was bad, they refused a refund as it fixed an issue, even if it wasn't the one I had brought it in for, even though I heard them over the phone guaranteed me that it was a fix for the issue I had stated. I brought the car back after having the same stutter reoccur 13 times on my drive to work, and 9 times on the way back. They kept my car for over a week, never called me once with an update, and when I finally called, they said they did not have a single occurrence of the issue I stated and could not find anything wrong, but would keep testing. I picked the car up to take it elsewhere, as I do not trust them with any aspect of my vehicle, and will just take the $700 hit for the ball joint so I can make sure I get the proper service elsewhere. And also, after apparently zero occurrences of this stutter happening over a course of their week test driving, it happened 7 times on my way back from picking it up. I am absolutely disgusted by their business practices and knowledge.
LIARS - Dogs
Took my Jeep in to get some work done that was covered by Jeep. Not quite a recall, but Jeep knew it to be an issue and covered all the costs. I told the service manager I was going on a road trip soon and was on a timeline. He promised to have it completed before I left. I was told my Jeep was ready one day before my trip, but there was one hiccup. The other dealership that sent them to catalytic converter did not include the sensors. They told me the catalytic converter HAD been installed, but they used my old sensors. I would need to come back in once I returned from my trip to get the new sensors installed.
Two weeks after returning from my trip, they finally said they received the new sensors. I dropped my Jeep off the night before the scheduled work. They told me it would not take very long to install the sensors (the entire job was only supposed to last 3 hours, so the sensor install shouldn't be much at all).
Around 3pm the day of the scheduled work, I called to check on the status. My Jeep had been there since the night before, so it was ready when they opened at 8am. I was told they still hadn't worked on my Jeep yet. I asked them if would be finished by closing time (6pm) and they said it would be.
I called at 5:15pm to check again. It was a 20 minute drive from my house to this dealership and I wanted to make sure I was going to be there before closing. That is when they decided to tell me that they didn't have time to get to my Jeep that day and it would be ready the following day. They offered for me to get a courtesy vehicle from them if my husband would bring me back there. I said no, this was supposed to be completed today and I didn't want their vehicle, I wanted mine. After speaking with the manager it was decided I could take the sensors somewhere else to be completed there as I was unhappy with how they were treating me and the tone I was being spoken to.
When I arrived at the dealership, my Jeep was parked out front. No one was around or in the office to speak with. I looked inside my Jeep and saw my keys were in it and it was unlocked. I then looked in the rear of the vehicle to see the ENTIRE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WITH SENSORS. Meaning they NEVER installed anything in the first place weeks prior!!
I filed a complaint with Chrysler and the dealership again offered to do the work and give me a courtesy vehicle. They claimed it was miscommunication between technicians, the manager, and the condescending woman (Tobi) that answers the phone for them. No other offers of compensation were made.

I found this dealer on the internet and gave them a call expecting the same story about how great the car is and I better hurry. However, when I called I spoke with Tom Gillum and was amazed at the low sales pressure and his straight forward honesty. I drove over two hours to this dealership and found the car just as he described. All the personnel working there were very friendly and honest and NO GAMES with the general manager. I was so impressed that I wanted to get the word out that there are honest dealers still out there. You can take them for their word on the phone or in person. Their pricing is very reasonable and they are great to deal with. Never thought I would give a car dealer a good review, but I was impressed!

Mark helped us find the New Journey that we wanted, he was very friendly. So much that 2 weeks later we took our daughter back to him to purchase her car. When we are ready for our next one we will only go back to Mark Emery at Freedom. Freedom is just a small town dealership , and very helpful at finding you a vehicle which we liked. They are more personal, than trying to just push something on you.
We have purchased a van from them in the previous years, and have had service done with them, and they alway's fixed it the first time.
