I'm very pleased with my choice to purchase the 2012 Volvo S60. It's a beautiful car and fun to drive. This is my first Volvo and I'm glad I went with Portland Volvo. My sales consultant Cary Smart was very pleasant to work with from start to finish. I was impressed with his knowledge about the Volvo S60 as he explained all the features this car has to offer. This helped in my decision to purchase this vehicle. I appreciated his patience and the time he took while helping me order my car the way I wanted it. I couldn't be more satisfied with the service I got from Cary and the friendly staff at Portland Volvo. I recommend doing business with Cary to my family and friends.

A new car is a big purchase in one's life. It can be a difficult process weeding through all the choices, and Cary was terrific, patient, and responsive. He was top notch. I also went with Saab for this new car, because I love your service department. So thank you very much, both Sales and Service.

Love the new 9-3X. Wish I could have had a chance to choose between the 9-5 X wagon and the 9-3X wagon. The 9-5 X wagon isn't due out until the Fall. I couldn't wait. But I am happy with the 9-3X wagon that I got last week. Cary did a good job helping me find a car that met my criteria. AWD was very important to me for this car, and he helped me stay on track with that.

My wish is that Saab would develop a greener technology car, or wagon in my case, and lead the way for more cars and car companies to use cleaner energy, and/or be more fuel efficient. My next car, and I hope it is a Saab, will definitely have to be better on fuel or be a greener technology car. It is time for everyone to build cars that we can love, like the Saab, and not feel so guilty about owning and driving.
Saab has the ability to do that, and it would be so great to be able to buy and drive an Saab with all its amazing engineering and details, and have it be a greener car than they are today.

I stopped in to review the option of buying a new Saab Convertible which I saw advertised on the Web, spoke with Peter outside about still having the car available, he brought me inside, reviewed the car with me, very helpful. Also met with Cary Smart whom I found extremly helpful, of which was able to make the numbers work to win me back in a New Saab. I am very pleased with the excellent customer service received on Saturday, and look forward with working with your Service Department in the future, understanding some of the same technicians are in Scarborough, ME that was at the Falmouth, ME location before moving the Saab dealership to Scarborough.

He was helpful without smothering me and he found me the car I was looking for. I spent 30 years in field sales and Cary is "my kind of salesperson" - I related easily to him and I can see why he is a top salesman.

Just bought a new car from Portland Volvo (Volvo S60) and they were absolutely phenomenal! We comparison shopped at a local Audi dealership (only had 1 model of the type of car we were considering though website listed at least 5 in stock..) and a local Infiniti dealership (good selection but played games w/ trade in value -- see below). Portland Volvo had the exact model I wanted in stock and they also had other options available in case I wanted a different color or if I wanted to upgrade (or downgrade for that matter). The PV website has a link to AutoTrader.com and that was very useful; my '05 Pacifica came in between $8600 and $8900 for a trade in value and PV offered me $8734 after driving it and having the service dept. take a look at it -- we were pleasantly surprised that there were no games involved (Infiniti offered $7000 then when we objected they "made some calls" and came in w/ $8000 -- grrr). Before visiting I had spoken w/ Heath Lovley who was very helpful. When we arrived Heath had another customer he was working with so Cary Smart helped us and he was very helpful as well. Great knowledge of the vehicle and encouraged me to really drive the car (residential, highway, corners, etc.) The car is very sophisticated in terms of technology so Cary went through the whole car w/ me and really helped ALOT! James was extremely helpful w/ all of the paperwork and financing options. They had made a mistake on the price and our payments should have gone up but they honored their original quote on payments, again, very refreshing. I would really recommend this dealership -- no haggling on prices or trade-ins which, for me, is the worst part of buying a car. And I should also mention that we have a 6 year old who was very patient the whole afternoon thanks to Barkley, the dealership mascot (Golden Retriever) -- he was a lifesaver! Thanks PV!

My Review of Portland Volvo Portland Saab:
Overall, my experience at Portland Volvo was fantastic and exceeded expectations; I highly recommend the dealership for sales and service. I was looking for a hard-to-find used V50 T5 with manual transmission early in the summer, when seemingly none could be found locally or nationally. Cary Smart was my salesperson, and promised to keep me on "the list" should one come in locally. To my (and his) amazement, a manual V50 T5 had arrived in local trade, so he phoned me and advised that with a refundable deposit I could have first right of refusal on the car. I made the trip in to test drive, took a night to consider my other car options, and returned the next day to complete the paperwork. The financing process was simple and straight-forward, with fairly competitive rates and fees. The wagon did require a final piece of service work before the dealership would release it to me, so I was given a free loaner until the car was ready the next day. Overall the process was simple, pressure-free, and Cary's deep knowledge of Volvos and successful history at Portland Volvo set apart this from other dealerships. When returning for service work and to order parts, Bryan Woodworth and David Cleveland clearly conveyed expectations, explained the service work, advised quotes and pricing, provided loaners, and schedule service when convenient for me. Thanks again for a great buying and service experience. Thanks again for a simple, clear and understandable car buying process.

I arrived later in the day anticipating you to be closed, however, to my surprise, you were open and the most pleasant and courteous salesperson, Carrington Smart came out to greet me. I have to say, from the very beginning, he made me feel comfortable, I did not feel pressured in any way, and he answered all of the questions I had in a concerned and caring manner. He was efficient and professional.

It is not a surprise to me why volvo is so successful if the caliber of sales personnel are all like Carrington. He made my purchase so smooth, from making the decision to the financing. Your financing officer James, was also tremendous at what he does. His efficiency allowed me to obtain the car quickly and get financing within hours.

Portland Volvo is an excellent dealership in every way. They have a beautiful selection of cars, and an extremely knowledgeable sales staff. There is no pressure or game playing, only sharing of information and a willingness to help the customer find the right car for him/her. I just purchased my fourth Volvo, with the courteous, professional assistance of Cary Smart. Over the past 26 years my cars have been meticulously maintained by Portland Volvo. They are, quite simply, the best service team there is. Volvos are great cars, but it is the people and quality of service that makes a dealership. Portland Volvo earns the very highest distinction in every regard. Many thanks to all the fine people who work there!
