Gus Erskine at Steve Lewis Subaru

Purchasing was no-nonsense. Was told no more or less than I wanted to know. To coaxing or pressure to upgrade to a fancier model nor to opt for accessories or options for which I expressed no interest. The precise model & color was not in their stock, but they obtained one within 48 hours. Everything was done efficiently. I purchased my previous Forester from Steve Lewis in 2000, and their service department has kept it running well for 213,000 miles. Only a leaking head gasket (very expensive repair) inclined me to replace the vehicle. This is the first time over many cars that I have purchased the same brand, much less model that I was retiring.

Gus was professional and very helpful and gave us time to consider all our options. He introduced us to other employees who helped with various aspects of the sale so it went smoothly. We are pleased with the cleanliness of the agency so we will return there for work. We are happy to recommned this agency and Gus.

Please note response in reference to staff names above. In addition, the reference to "staff" includes all with whom I came in contact while waiting for the vehicle at various stages. As I walked around the facility, I came across shop folks and the car washing crew, who also went about their business professionally and with good cheer. Observations of the shop areas were very impressive with their obvious maintenance schedules rendering the spaces in unbelievable order and cleanliness. Management is to be commended for high standards expectations and an obvious commitment to training to accomplish same. In our dialogue, Jesse made commitments to get certain things addressed and he followed through on each and everyone. The prior owners had kept to the vehicle's maintenance schedule and it showed. They only failed in having the timing belt changed at the 90,000 mile mark which I am now forced to accommodate, making it the only "negative" out of the entire purchasing experience. That in itself, however, will not lessen my enthusiastic endorsement to others for the purchasing experience at Steve Lewis Subaru.

I initially found SLS during an online search trying to find the right car with the options I wanted. After contacting the dealership looking for their E-Price, they were willing to work with me to get a price that I was happy with. We set up an appt to get the car and short of some inexperience on my part and a new employee, everything went smoothly and I drove out of there with a huge grin on my face. Everyone I worked with was helpful and weren't hesitant to answer my questions. I read often that dealers might try to take advantage of consumers but I did not get that feeling at all. I am very happy with my decision to go to SLS.

My wife and I met Gus Erskine about 6 months ago. We were walking the bike path that runs behind the dealership and decided to look at the new cars. Gus was showing cars to a couple and we just listened for a few minutes. Gus was professional and to the point with the other couple. We could tell that he understood the vehicles and understood what the couple wanted. We liked the way he presented himself and decided to ask for Gus when it was time for us to find a new car. We found that Gus was just what we expected based on the way he treated the other couple and were extremely happy with the overall experience. Gus did not attempt to upsell us and when we told him that we were set on buying an Impreza he explained the entire product line and let us make our decision. Overall the facility in Hadley is immaculate and we plan on bringing our new Impreza back there for service. Over the years I have purchased an number of vehicles and have been know to walk out on a sales rep that I felt was being heavy handed. This was one of the top two experiences that I have had purchasing an automobile.

Larry Flakes was an incredibly helpful salesman! During the test drive, my daughter especially appreciated him both explaining & demonstrating features needed for winter driving. Since she's returning to the area from southern California, test driving an AWD Subaru
on a snowy, icy winter day was the way to go. She bought the car. Thanks, Larry

We are so grateful for our new Subaru Legacy that we leased from Steve Lewis Subaru. We also appreciated the respect, expertise, courtesy and honesty with which we were treated by Gus Erskine and the rest of the staff at the dealership. This dealership is the best in the business by far! It is a no nonsense and straight to the point experience. Our salesman Gus was fantastic! He was so professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and didn't promise anything he couldn't deliver. Honestly it was the best car buying experience we have ever had. I would not change anything about purchasing our car here. Hopefully the service department will be as friendly and professional as sales. Judging by the smiling faces of people waiting for their cars to be serviced, the service department is just as good! If you go to this dealer, definitely ask for Gus!!!! He is the best in the business!!!!!!! Super nice guy and very funny too...
