Although Buyers Import historically has enjoyed a solid reputation and relationship in our community, my automobile purchasing experience there, by far, was nothing but abysmal. This past Monday, around the early afternoon, after verbally settling on a purchase price for a 2017 Tesla Model X with the Buyers Import salesman, the matter of upgrading, at my expense, the infotainment system, now, since the car was scheduled for Tesla service on Wednesday, or at some point in the distant future, remained the only unresolved issue for me to decide. In either scenario, the infotainment upgrade was not contingent upon the sale since the cost to upgrade was solely mine. Related to the salesman my need to give it some thought as to when to perform the upgrade and was to get back to him that afternoon. (Updating the infotainment system in an older Model X is important to allow for the the electric car to function more efficiently). Thus, my decision was to upgrade at the scheduled Wednesday service date. Upon returning to the dealership to inform the salesman of my decision to proceed with the upgrade and to conclude the purchase, while sitting across the table with the salesman for nearly 15 minutes, I was informed someone else, who, according to the salesman, had entered into negotiation with Buyers Import on Sunday (Buyers Import is closed to the public on Sunday) was test driving the car as we spoke. I was further informed the person test driving the vehicle now had priority to purchase it over me. Perhaps a better deal for the dealership. Needless to say, I was shocked, stunned in disbelieve that a reputable and credible company would not honor the sale, but instead, engaged in what appeared to me a to be "parallel transaction." For those reasons, it is sufficient to say that my experience at Buyers Import, by far, has been my worst automobile purchasing experience, resulting in no regard to costumers commitments, their satisfaction or concerns.
