My husband and I have been looking for our first car for over 2 months. After two rotten experiences with other dealerships, we bought our new Sorento from George Res.
I can't recommend him enough. He was very patient with us and made sure we were always on the same page throughout. He got us the exact car we wanted with all the features we requested.
We will certainly return when it's time to upgrade.

I have purchased several Kia's from Gerald KIA . I was recently in the market for a NIro (hybrid) and Dennis Michelsen was my sales consultant. I appreciated his knowledge of the vehicle, my budget and pricing needs. We tested the Niro and agreed on a fair price. Dennis is really personable and easy to work with in these stressful car buying situations. It was a positive experience and I would highly recommend him.

Fantastic car buying experience! - Cheryl Reilly
We were looking for a Kia Stinger and stopped by Liberty Kia after chatting with David Drumke on the phone early on a Saturday morning. David was friendly and personable and very knowledgeable about the Stinger. We test drove the car and was ready to purchase. David explained the process thoroughly and walked us through the paperwork with ease. Negotiating the price (which is always a stressful event) was easy and stress-free. PERFECT negotiating process. Everything was in writing before we got to the finance department which is headed up by John Hernandez. John is a great guy, easy to talk to and explained everything that we were signing.
We couldn't have asked for an easier transaction. If you're in the market for a new Kia (or used), I would highly recommend Liberty Kia, they're truly the "neighbor's" neighborhood dealer to see.

The most horrific experience ever! - Susan.Ramos
I bought a brand new Kia Optima SXL limited edition vehicle in 2013 and a Kia Forte in 2015 from Berwyn Kia. The Optima came with a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Since the car has failed me very unimaginably, including needing a new engine, starter, alternator, and audio system, there have been issues with the air conditioning system, overheating, and among many other concerns. Everytime I've brought it in for servicing, I have found myself needing to convince Berwyn Kia about such warranty. The matter has been truly exhausting, a total and complete nightmare!
Over a week ago I brought the car in to get yet another issue resolved, and to revisit prior very poor quality work. And yet again I was given the round around.
I found myself needing to make numerous attempts to escalate my issue but to no avail, because the owner Al also refused to take my calls,
The owner didn't care to listen to my iissues, to learn about the below standard job performance of some of his employees, in the area of basic customer service, due diligence, follow through, work ethic, follow through, a basic acceptable level of quality in their work.
Instead he called me to threaten me to remove my car from his premise, that he found it very disrespectful of me to have called to speak to a number of his employees, in my need for assistance with my matter, in my need to get a basic answers to do with my failing vehicle.
In his call he was rude, threatening, condescending, unapologetic, ungrateful and unprofessional, and like his employee, without letting me get a word in, after he finished threatening me that he would call the police to have me arrested if I ever stepped foot in the premise, hung up on me! Yes this after spending over 70,000 dollars in his facility!!
I had to call the Berwyn police department to escort me to the facility, to remove the Kia Optima Limited Edition 40,000 dollar failing vehicle, I purchased from him, which still had the visible bumper damage it sustained at the facility, damage they said, they would repair and later refused responsibility for.
I now understand why everytime I visit the facility I see different employees, why the phones ring off the hook when I call to schedule an appointment, why I have found myself needing to call the sales department to have my call redirected to the service area. Yes, they do answer their sales calls.
I now know why employee's such as Hector in the service department think it's okay to be rude and disrespectful to a customer, why they are argumentative, and why they feel so empowered to actually hang up on a customers, and talk to them in any unprofessional and disrespectful way, I understand why it is acceptable for this facility to take 3 days to diagnose a vehicle and why the follow through is so poor and unacceptable.
When a business owner fails to understand who is the bread and butter of the business, and how they impact the bottom line and also don't know what is the number one reason whybusinesses fail, they truly have no business being in business, this is my opinion.
I have never been treated so poorly in my life and in other business I have been treated way better for purchases I've made of a significantly lesser value!
I of coarse will never again purchase another vehicle from this facility, and most certainly and will definitely not recommend the product or the facility to anyone ever quite the contrary, for the reasons I just gave you!
I await to hear from the Corporate Kia Consumer Department. I hope they value my loyalty and business!
Chaos - Blc6105
This is probably the worst experience I've ever had with trading in a vehicle and purchasing a new one. First of all, I had 3 different salesmen and I have no clue who was actually my "main guy." They we're talking negatively about one another and it was just chaotic. Regardless of my gut feeling to leave, I let them talk me into buying the car, which I had buyers remorse after sitting in finance for 4 hours. We walked out after 10pm to find they didn't even detail the car or fill it with gas, as promised. Then they called me to tell me I needed to come back to resign forms that weren't done properly! Frustrating. I received a call from my old finance company telling me that they shorted the payoff so there is still a balance! I was informed they've called WorldKia numerous times with no response. It is beyond ridiculous and I would drive the distance to go to ANY dealership besides this one.

All this KIA branch wants is your hard earned money. They do not care about anything else, just a quick sale of their over priced cars.
NO respect - nilsa123
I arrived at the Kia dealer wanting to gather info on a car I want to buy. Salesman came right out and started the interrogations. Questions and more questions... so much so I couldn’t ask my questions. Any way I understood it’s his job. So, he asked if I wanted to test drive the car and I said no because I wanted to research the car before I fell in love with the car.
He said no problem; can I give you my business card. I said sure. His Manager came out with him wanted to show the salesperson how it was done!
He wanted to know why I wouldn’t take the car for a test drive… I replied I wanted to do research before I got emotionally involved with the car. He then said” What are you afraid of?” that was a womanizing thing to say… I felt attacked! I was so angry!!! How dare he say that to me!!! NO RESPECT! I will never buy a car there!!! I will go to a different dealer and will buy from a female salesperson!!!!
Visit this dealership ONLY if you enjoy getting scammed. - corwashere
Libertyville Auto Plaza is, quite literally, the epitome of your standard shady, sleazy, unethical and dishonest dealerships. Really, this place is a "60 Minutes" special just waiting to happen.
Oh where do I begin?!? My wife and I were shopping around for a Kia Sorento and had called and visited several dealerships. Our Honda minivan was on its last leg and we had taken it to Carmax to see how much we could sell it for. Carmax offered us $4,000 so we kept hold of the offer to see if other dealerships could match it on a trade-in. We visited one dealership who told us they would actually give is $100 more if we would buy from them. We eventually did buy from them but not before getting nearly burned by Libertyville, but I digress.
Over the phone Libertyville offered us the same car with fewer miles for $500 less than the other dealership. They also informed us that the finance charge would be 3% and that they would match the Carmax appraisal. They had even gone so far as to assure us that there would be NO OTHER COSTS other than the typical tax, title and license fees. Thinking we had found a better deal, we drive all the way up to Libertyville, which is wear the fun really begins.
First as we are walking up to the entrance we are greeted by no fewer than three employees standing in front of the door smoking. Gross. Walking inside and catching our breath we are quickly handed over to "Omar", a pleasant enough fellow who, unfortunately, suffers from a delusion of honesty. We ask him to confirm that the deal that we were told over the phone was valid (3% APR, Carmax match, no hidden fees, etc) and he "assured" us that everything was on the up and up.... again... delusions of honesty.
The first red flag begins when Omar tells us that, even though we have a Carmax appraisal in hand, they would like to appraise our van themselves, and there "might" be a difference of opinion. After waiting for about 10 minutes Omar rushes back and quickly tells us that they would be giving us $3500 for the trade-in but that equates to $3800 with tax savings. And of course we stood our ground and told him, "No", you are going to give us what you told us you would give us. After which Omar tells us they'll appraise it again. WHAT?!?! Really?!?! Appraise it again? What do you expect to find a few hundred dollar bills tucked away in the glove compartment in the second go around, Omar?!?
The next red flag is when Omar comes back into the office and, without even checking our credit score, background, or even checking with a bank, tells us that with our trade-in (now magically $4000) our monthly payments would be $282 for 72 months. Well, let's do some basic math. If the car we are looking at is $17,000 and you apply $4,000 on a trade in bringing us down to $13,000. Then apply tax, title license, etc (assuming $2000 total) That would bring us to an amount being financed as $15,000. So pulling up a car payment calculator I quickly deduce that Omar and the merry elves in his finance department plan on charging us a whopping 10% finance charge after they told us it would be 3%!!!
I instantly bring this to Omar's attention who quickly feigns doe-like innocence. At that point I inform Omar that, being the son of a former car salesman, I know what he is trying to pull and that if I see one more inkling of shenanigans from his side of the table that we would be walking out the door. So as he steps away to go get his manager, my wife and I look at the pricing list for this deal and see that they also blatantly lied about not charging us the extra fees which were peppered all over the "agreement".
So, that being the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. We pack up our stuff and proceed to try to find Omar who still has our van key so we can get it back. Omar and his "manager" (I really wish I could remember the manager's name... all I can say is that the "manager" looks like he would make a good extra in "The Soprano's" if it still aired. ) "Mr. Manager" informs me that he took personal charge of appraising our van and that the number they gave us was a good one... well of course you're going to tell us that... you're the one trying to scam us!!! I quickly point out each lie they told us and demanded our key back which, at that point, they were more than happy to give after being exposed for the frauds that they were.
STAY AWAY... FAR AWAY... Unless, of course, you enjoy getting scammed.
DECEITFUL STAY AWAY - CUBBIES514
Called and received a price on a car. Daniel Brennan emailed me the price. Told him cash out the door ( numerous times). Went there to put a down payment down and to test drive. When it came time for the paper work Daniel's manager Michael Quigley came over to us and said Daniel made a mistake by $ 1000.00. They forgot to add in destination charges, also they thought I was financing so they gave me $1000.00 discount for that. I could not have been more clear about cash! Michael Quigley was the most obnoxious person I have ever dealt with in my life. He said he would overlook the financing but not the destination charges. Told him I had it in writing and he said it was a mistake. He would not stand behind it, I told him if this was a mistake from your salesman you should stand behind it and not penalize the customer. He had a carefree but determined attitude and made it clear he was not budging! Michael Quigley is very ignorant and tries to be a very demeaning person to a point that I said I would have to think about it because I thought it was very unethical. He said the offer was only good until 9:00 pm and it was now 8:30. I can not understand how Kia could have such a deceitful and ignorant manager! It was at that time I called Ed Napleton of Elmhurst they not only waited for us but they were so friendly, courteous and honorable and they found the car we were looking for and we bought it the next day! I highly advise you to stay away from McGrath Arlington and if you want a professional car dealership with no pressure visit Ed Napleton of Elmhurst . Sincerely Donna M
worst buying experience ever - Larry G
. the reason car dealers have a bad reputation.
after arriving at a mutually agreeable price, I proceeded to sign all paper work and discovered that an $800 charge was included in the billing for after market paint protection. i told them that i did not order this service and would not pay for it. the manager took offense , became belligerent, and told me that they would not complete the sale unless i agreed to this fee.
i wanted the car and complied .
