RUN AWAY! Service Department Dishonest! - BMW Lover
For the sake of context, we have three BMWs (Z4, 528i & 745i) and we are true believers in the Brand - fabulous vehicles that last a very long time and frankly are easy to maintain if you're reasonably mechanically minded.
Soooo...begin having recurring issues with the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System). The on-board diagnostic kept showing low-pressure in the front right tire (third occurrence in the TWO MONTHS since I bought it FROM THEM). Not that the tire pressure actually WAS low mind you - when I check it it's always the same pressure as all the other tires, but for whatever reason the car's diagnostic systems display the incorrect pressure on the front passenger side tire. No worries though right? It's under warranty after all....WRONG on the no worries part my friends.
It's fully covered under the warranty alright, but the BMW of Las Vegas Service department refuses to accept that the TPMS sensor may be faulty and instead blames a "very, very slow leak". So what DO they advise? Well I'll need to buy a new tire (tires are not warranty items) before they can diagnose anything! They won't even accept the notion that there may be a problem with the TPMS even though the car's on-board diagnostics shows 23psi while a hand-held air gauge shows 36psi at the exact same moment! It's the "very, very slow leak" they say (that's responsible for an 13psi pressure differential) and they can't seem to wrap their heads around having two different pressures for the same tire at the exact same time! It's the phantom leak!!
The bottom line here - the dealership makes money selling and installing a new run-flat tire but don't make any honoring their warranty on the vehicle. (the almost funny part is that they said it would take 2-days to get a tire - wut?)
The Service Manager Josh was WAY out of his depth (I'm being kind here) and of zero assistance in resolving this. Luckily for me but not so lucky for them is that I do ALL my own wrenching on my BMWs so I wasn't a person they could deceive. Sure, it would have been nice if they were honest and forthright in their dealings and actually honored the warranty, but it's better to learn these things now on a small scale repair than on something major. I can buy a new TPMS sensor for about $60 and replace it myself or have any tire place install it for another $15, OR just go to BMW of Henderson and hope they have an honest service department
You know it's not the $ but rather the complete lack of ethics that's so disappointing. Get you a BMW my friends...they're awesome!! (Just don't get it from BMW of Las Vegas). PEACE
BMW Henderson Are Scam Artists!! Stay Away!! - keving
This is Kevin Gundersen. If management wants to make this right, you definitely have my number to contact me. I have had a total of 5 BMWs in my life and have never been so disappointed with the service that I received at BMW Henderson. I have previously leased all of my cars from BMW Irvine and have nothing but amazing things to say about them.
My lease was up for my 328i and X5 and I wanted to trade them in for new cars. I turned in my X5 to the BMW Auto Nation collision center 27 days before my lease was up to get my bumper fixed (through an insurance claim). It took them 29 days to fix my bumper which pushed me into another expensive 950 dollar payment! They had zero communication the entire time and I had to continuously call in.
My wife had 4 months left on her 328i lease and we were going to wait another month since the pull ahead program was only 3 months. Lesley (sleezy sales rep) wanted us to get a new car asap so she got "approval" to allow us to turn in our car 4 months early and trade it in for a brand new x3. She lied about getting this approval and now BMW financial is billing me for our final month. When I call BMW financial, they direct me back to BMW Henderson and say they are two separate companies. Lesley is now completely lying that she ever gave us approval for a 4 month pull ahead. I call the management, call Lesley, call BMW Henderson and EVERYONE ducks my calls. I actually went into BMW and called Lesley's cellphone while I watched her decline my call. It really is unbelievable.
Another sneaky trick they tried to pull: I negotiated and got my final numbers and made it very clear that we had an agreement and they weren't going to add on any sneaky payments at the end. After I filled out all of my paperwork for the new lease, they informed me that they just implemented a new program where the buyer has to pay something around $2900 dollars (I believe it was that amount) for maintenance. I refused and threatened to walk and a very defeated finance manager agreed to include that for just $1.
These are just 2 out of 4 issues that I have had with BMW Henderson. I don't have all day to go into detail about the others. These people are con artists and intentionally separate themselves from their own Auto Nation Collision center and are independently owned so BMW corporate can't even help with problems.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY ARE DIRTBAGS!!!
