Bottom line, I love the Volvo XC40 Recharge that I - DetailEd
Bottom line, I love the Volvo XC40 Recharge that I purchased from Easterns and I had excellent experiences with all five Easterns employees that I interacted with during the process. However, caveat emptor still applies to buying cars from any dealership.
Pros – I found the advertised car to be in top condition as expected from the 50+ photos plus description that were posted online; I was able to conduct an extended test drive (about 30 minutes); I was able to purchase the car at the exact advertised price; I was able to leave the dealership the same day with the car; as mentioned above, all the employees were pleasant throughout the process.
Cons – The trade amount settled on was below the value range that I received via the online quote system; a system glitch indicated that there wasn’t a documentation fee for this vehicle, while in fact, I did have to pay the $799; Lojack was installed and added $1,000 to the price but was quickly removed when I insisted; due to multiple delays that were clearly in the dealership’s control, it took six hours to buy the car – it could/should have been done in one hour; a mistake on the deal paperwork caused wasted time, effort, and an extra trip to the motor vehicle office; the vehicle’s system software wasn’t released and reset from the prior owner which would have caused unnecessary expense and effort had I not found the prior owner’s email address and requested (and received) an in-app release for ownership of the vehicle.
I would not hesitate to purchase from Easterns again after conducting the same prior diligence on a specific vehicle. Just remember caveat emptor!
Top three tips for Easterns: 1) price vehicles fairly and offer any extras available, but stop trying to force pad profit on vehicles, 2) be sure to software release/reset vehicles from prior owners – every manufacturer has a difference procedure, this is really critical with selling/buying used modern cars, 3) use an AI agent to scan all deal paperwork to ensure accuracy prior to finalizing a deal and submitting to various agencies – this will save considerable time and headaches for all parties. Follow these three tips for the happiest customers in the business!
